“RUBEN” — 5yr old AQHA Roan gelding, 15.0HH—perfect futurity/all-around prospect! Ruben offers that ideal blend of speed, athleticism, trainability, and cow sense everyone is searching for.
Ruben has had a well-rounded start to his career. He previously spent 120-days with a
professional cutting trainer in 2023 developing a good foundation under saddle, excellent body control and responsiveness. In the Fall of 2024, he completed 9-weeks with a professional barrel trainer where he continued his arena education, worked barrel drills, and gained valuable outside exposure through ranch riding, feedlot work, hauling, and real-world experiences. Most recently, Spring of 2026 Ruben spent 2-months with professional barrel trainer Joleen Seitz continuing his progression on the barrel pattern before returning home (in April). This guy is high-loping a great barrel pattern has been hauled and entered at a few barrel races so far for exposure.
This gelding is nicely broke, soft in the bridle, responsive to leg pressure, and has a solid stop. He is easy to be around, very trainable with the kind of temperament that makes him enjoyable to work with every day. Ruben hauls well, stands tied, is good with the farrier and backs off the trailer quietly. He is ready for someone to continue on with on the barrel pattern, a classy, versatile prospect that is built to make a name for himself in the barrel pen & beyond.
