This , we’re proud to introduce Mamava lactation pods at RVH.

Made possible through the generous support of the RVH Auxiliary and inspired by feedback from Team RVH, these private, comfortable spaces provide dedicated areas for breastfeeding and expressing milk.

Visiting or receiving care at RVH? The public Mamava pod is conveniently located in the Atrium Entrance and can be accessed through the Mamava app.

It’s another step forward in our commitment to creating a more inclusive, accessible and supportive environment for patients, visitors, care partners and Team RVH.

RVH researchers are teaming up with post-secondary students like Laura to drive innovation in healthcare.

As a nursing student at Georgian College, Laura Coleman found an interest in evidence-based patient care. This led her to RVH's Student Program in Applied Research and Knowledge Building (SPARK), where she was paired with Dr. Corey Heerschap, Wound and Ostomy Clinical Nurse Specialist at RVH. Their work is focused on improving wound and ostomy care education using AI-generated images.

Today is Canadian Injury Prevention Day.

48 Canadians are lost to injury every day and 634 more are hospitalized. Most injuries are preventable, which means change is possible in how we look out for each other and move through the world.

Small habits matter more than we think. Awareness, care, and a few extra seconds of attention can shift outcomes in powerful ways.

Safer moments create more time for the things that matter most. The rides, the hikes, the laughter, the everyday adventures.

Your visit to RVH just got easier.

We've officially launched our new self-registration kiosks at the Main Entrance, bringing the same quick and seamless check-in experience to every entrance at RVH.

The new kiosks help make your arrival even smoother, while our clerical staff and volunteers are still there to welcome you, answer questions and provide support every step of the way.

It's one more way we're making your visit easier from the moment you walk through our doors.

Better images. Faster care. Improved access.

RVH has upgraded its fluoroscopy equipment, helping patients receive the care they need, close to home.

Fluoroscopy is a special type of medical imaging that allows healthcare teams to see movement inside the body in real time. It helps diagnose and guide treatment for a range of conditions, including swallowing and digestive issues, and placement of pain-relieving medications or assessing chronic joint pain.

The new equipment provides clearer images, improved reliability, and the flexibility to perform both fluoroscopy and general X-rays in the same suite. This gives care teams greater flexibility to meet patient needs and faster access to the information they need to make important care decisions.

This investment helps ensure patients receive timely answers, exceptional care experiences and access to advanced technology right here at RVH.

June is Stroke Month, a time to raise awareness about stroke prevention, treatment and recovery.

For Catherine Vingerhoets, RVH's Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinical Team Lead, understanding what matters most to patients, families and care partners is an important part of rehabilitation. Through her PhD research, she explored how healthcare teams learn about patients' values, preferences, and life circumstances, and how that understanding shapes rehabilitation care.

Her research found that people want to be seen beyond their diagnosis — as individuals with their own goals, relationships, priorities, and stories.

Read more about Catherine's research and how it is helping advance patient-centred rehabilitation care.
