Miigwetch to everyone who joined us for the Falling Leaves Moon Drum Social on Saturday evening.

It was wonderful to see community members, families, singers, and friends come together in a good way to share in culture and connection.

A heartfelt thank you to the invited drums 416, Mixed Tribe, and Chippewa Travellers for sharing their songs and helping make the evening so special. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Georgian College Indigenous Services, our community partners, volunteers, organizers, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this gathering possible.

Events like these remind us of the strength of community and the importance of creating spaces where culture, wellness, and relationships can flourish. Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported the event, and helped create such a welcoming evening.

Today is the Drum Social!

The Barrie Area Native Advisory Circle and the Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin team invite community members, families, and friends to join us for an evening of connection, culture, and community.

Come together to share space, celebrate Indigenous songs and traditions, and experience the strength and healing that comes through gathering in a good way.

Whether you are a singer, a dancer, or simply wish to listen and learn, all are welcome. Bring your family, your good spirit, and your heart.

Chi-miigwech to everyone who helped make the 17th Annual Indigenous Health Forum a meaningful gathering!

Held October 14 & 15, the Forum brought together community perspectives, partner updates, teachings from Knowledge Holders, and opportunities to learn about the collective work happening across our region.

A special thank you to Dr. Michael Yellow Bird for sharing an inspiring presentation that offered a deeper understanding of how traditional ceremony and practices support overall health and well-being.

We are also grateful for the generous funding and support provided by Ontario Health – Central & West Region, Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care, Chigamik Community Health Centre, and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, helping make this year’s gathering possible.

To everyone who helped plan, support and participate in this year’s Forum, chi-miigwech. The transformative work happening in Indigenous health across our region is strengthened through community, partnership, shared knowledge and working together.
