St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation

Our very active registered charity has been raising funds in support of the equipment needs of the St Francis Memorial Hospital since 2001. Recently, the Foundation has enhanced its scope to include fundraising for all of the non profit healthcare organizations, including the MV Hospice Palliative Care program and the Valley Manor Nursing Home. Our goal is to create an opportunity for the donors of the Madawaska Valley and area to advance healthcare by ensuring support for equipment and facility needs through the efforts of one fundraising organization. The SFVH Foundation will work in partnership with the three organizations to inclusively fundraise based on long term plans for the healthcare needs of the community. The Foundation is closely connected with our community and receives strong support from individuals and organizations throughout our healthcare catchment area.

Congratulations to Will Russell, the first Clinical Care Assistant RN at St. Francis Memorial Hospital to receive his Guardian Angel wings!

Russell is a fourth-year RN student at Queen’s University. He spent the summer working at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, and was nominated by a grateful patient for his excellent care.

“I’m grateful to be put under your care; You are kind and empathetic,” the patient said. “You are attentive to all my needs. You are aware of my pain and take care not to inflict any more. I wish you luck in your remaining studies because you will continue to become an excellent nurse.”

The Guardian Angel program allows you the opportunity to show your appreciation for exceptional and compassionate care in a meaningful way that helps us change and save lives by ensuring our caregivers have the equipment and facilities they need to provide you with the best possible care.

For more information, call 613-756-3045 ext. 217 or visit www.sfvhfoundation.com/donate/guardian-angels/

Our 22nd Annual Friends of St. Francis Charity Golf Tournament was a huge success!

Held September 4 at Homestead at Wolf Ridge Golf Course in Killaloe, the tournament brought together 39 teams for a day of great golf, great company and an even greater cause.

Funds raised through this year's tournament will help support the purchase of a new X-ray machine at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. This important piece of equipment will help provide patients with access to modern diagnostic imaging right here in our community.

To all of our golfers, sponsors, volunteers and supporters - thank you for helping make a difference in local healthcare, one swing at a time!

We're still tallying the total amount raised. Stay tuned!
