September is National Recovery Month. If you care about someone struggling with addiction, establishing healthy boundaries is an effective way back to mutual respect. Remember, boundaries are for YOU. The other person is free to do as they choose. If they repeatedly disregard your boundaries, it is your responsibility to take a protective action. Temporarily disengaging is often enough.
