You're teeth are held in place by periodontal ligaments. These cushion your teeth as you chew. They can be damaged by bacteria, clenching, zyns to name a few.

If they become sore/hurt by clenching, for example, you'll have a dull ache in your jaw bone - this takes time to go away so chewing on the other side and having softer food will help

Once you have damaged periodontal ligaments from bacterial inflammation, for example, you have periodontal disease which is often irreversible

So many times I have mini heart attacks when I do my cursory exam and see all these dark black spots in between teeth, the I floss and its just blueberry skins. 😅
I've learned to investigate further before mentioning anything to the person.

Has your dental hygienist ever asked about your blueberry consumption?

We've got a tooth!
It is most often the bottom front teeth that erupt first and typically around 7-12 months. Girls more frequently get teeth sooner than boys.
The normal range for tooth eruption is HUGE, and it's definitely not a race!
