Cindy and Larry's journey is one of many. Every day, Hospice Quinte supports individuals and families facing some of life's most difficult moments. Whether through caregiver support, respite services, hospice residence care, or grief and bereavement programs, we are committed to ensuring no one has to walk alone.

We're sharing Cindy's story because her experience reflects what happens every day at Hospice Quinte. Families facing some of life's most difficult moments find comfort, dignity, compassion, and reassurance.

A letter from Cindy is arriving in mailboxes this week, and we hope you'll take a few moments to read their story and learn how community support helps families just like theirs.

Many people are surprised to learn that only 40% of Hospice Quinte's operating costs are covered by Ontario Health. The remaining care is made possible by our community.

When you give to Hospice Quinte, you're helping ensure local families have access to compassionate hospice care, caregiver support, and grief support, which is all provided free of charge. When Cindy's husband Larry became ill, she spent years caring for him at home. Like so many caregivers, she did everything she could for the person she loved most.

But there were days when she felt exhausted, isolated, and unsure how she would keep going.
Hospice Quinte was there through caregiver support, respite services, hospice care, and grief support.

As Cindy shared: "They gave me the gift of being Larry's wife again instead of his caregiver."

This week, many of our supporters will receive a letter sharing Cindy and Larry's journey. We hope you'll take a few moments to read it and learn how your generosity helps ensure no family has to face caregiving, end-of-life care, or grief alone.

Our team took a well-deserved pause for Clinical Wellness Day on June 26th!

The day included a restorative yoga session, a healthy lunch lovingly prepared by our Food Service Coordinator, Stephanie Lee, and our wonderful kitchen volunteers, plus some very special visitors from the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward. The puppies and kittens brought plenty of smiles and moments of joy.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so meaningful. Supporting the well-being of our staff and volunteers helps us continue providing compassionate, free care for every family we serve.

And thank you to the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward for sharing your adorable four-legged ambassadors with us! 🐾
