Important update about changes within my massage therapy practice!

I have taken an opportunity to practice full time in Regina at Healthy Roots!
This is a very exciting opportunity and I'm thrilled to be adding more hours to this incredible office.
However, it is bitter sweet, as this means I will have very limited time available to practice in Bethune.
As of June 1st, I will be removing my online booking option for DC Wellness in Bethune.
If you are still wanting to book with me in Bethune, please reach out to me directly and I will do my best to find a time to accommodate you.

For anyone with gift certificates that haven't been used yet, you will still be able to use them with me! You can either book directly with me in Bethune, or book with me in Regina at Healthy Roots!

FAQ Friday!

Have you ever experienced post-massage treatment soreness?
It is completely normal to have some discomfort after a massage treatment, especially following a deep therapeutic treatment.
This typically only lasts up to 48 hours and you can help speed up the time by applying ice to the areas of discomfort!
Prefer to have little to no soreness after the treatment?
Just mention it to your massage therapist and they will be able to adjust the pressure of your treatment appropriately!

***MEET THE TEAM - DANIELLE CRAWFORD, RMT*** 🍃NEW RMT JOINING OUR TEAM MARCH 1st🍃

Hey! I'm Danielle! I'm excited to share a little bit about myself.

I have been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2015. And, I am thrilled to be a part of your wellness journey.
I found a passion for massage therapy years ago and have continued to love working with people to achieve their wellness goals.

My treatment style is deep tissue and therapeutic, specifically to target your areas of concern. However, I add in enough flowing relaxation techniques to help ease the discomfort. I try to always create a space and treatment plan where my clients comfort is a top priority.

I am a small town girl and I am an imperfect mom of two littles who are always keeping me on my toes.
When I am not partaking in my roles as an RMT or mom, you will probably find me watching trash TV, spending time with friends or family hyper-fixating on my current obsession at the time and maybe, once in a blue moon, baking a pan of cinnamon buns.

I look forward to seeing you soon! I am now available on the website for booking treatments starting March 1st.

Next time you are coming in for a massage, I hope you stop for a minute to take a look at these beautiful pieces of art!
These were created by an extremely talented local artist, Inkspirations by Heather Riche.
These are one of a kind, original paintings, not prints!

Heres for all the super parents out there.
I SEE YOU.

I see you doing the cooking, and the cleaning, and everything else that comes to mind. Meanwhile, all while you are tending to the child who you are carrying around on your hip. But now you have a nagging pain in your back that won't go away.
Lets talk about why that might be! ⬇️

When you are carrying your little on your hip, you shift your pelvis towards the side you are carrying them on to make a shelf for them. When you do that, your center of gravity will shift as well. Although, it doesn't seem like much at the time, the core muscles that are required to make that adjustment to your body and hold it for extended periods of time are working HARD.
Now, let's talk about the rest of the spine. Since your pelvis is shifted to one side, the middle section in your back curves in the opposite direction to counter it. The upper part of your spine will shift back to midline, creating a curve throughout the entire spine.
It is something I've seen occur with parents and caregivers time and time again.

So, what can you do about it?
It would be much easier said than done for me to recommend not carrying kids around on your hip. But let's be honest, there would be a whole lot less that would get done. So I will recommend some alternatives!

👉Try to switch it up. Carry them on the opposite side that you normally do.
👉 Work on strengthening your core muscles.
👉Stretch daily.
👉Use ice or heat to relieve pain.
👉Book a massage.
