Labour of Love Birth, Loss and Bereavement Doula and Childbirth Educator As a doula, I will help to present options in birthing, such as positioning and comfort
measures.

A birth doula (a Greek word meaning servant) supports the mother and her family prior to and during the birth of their child. I'm trained and certified through DONA International and am continuing to train in all areas of pregnancy and childbirth in order to alleviate your concerns and fears. I will work to create and maintain a warm and welcoming environment at your home, in a birthing centre or

Last week, I was in a checkout line in a grocery store. This experience has stayed with me; so much that I need to write it out and pay it some attention.

There was a woman behind me in line.

How the conversation began is not as important where it went.

This human being was grieving in a grocery shop. She couldn't stop her tears from flowing. She was embarrassed and self conscious and tried to turn away. I shared unabashedely that I had been here and shared her grief.

I told her to go ahead and cry all she wanted. I hugged her.

There are no books (trust me I looked) and no support groups... but trust me when I say the transition from raising babies into adulthood and watching them leave you into the world is a THING.

Empty nest transition is a THING.

People say "be proud and let them go".

Yes. Absolutely.

But you can also take a pause and take time to grieve the transition.

It's ALLOWED. Go ahead and cry!!

As a doula, I’ve seen a BOATLOAD of ultrasounds ☺️

but never one that made my heart leap and changed my life in a million beautiful, joyful ways 🥰🎉💖🥰

Our son was married in June and he and his amazing wife are blessing us with a GRANDBABY next year 💖

I already am so deeply and profoundly in love 🥰
