* Anyone who knew Anne knows she liked to have a “bite to eat” and visit with friends. It would make her smile if you can join her family at the Morinville Legion for refreshments and fellowship.

Anne passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends. Beloved wife of Cyril for 47 years; cherished mother of Scott (Darcey) and Ryan (Leihan); loving nanny of Hayden (24), Emma (22), Corey (22), Oliver (17), Samantha (15) and Crosby (12). Survived by her sisters, Joan (Bernie), Elizabeth (the late Gerard Barron) and Gladys (Philip); her brothers, Denis (Wendy), Gerard (the late Margie Wakeham), John, Greg and Gary. Predeceased by her parents, Gregory and Gladys (née Hickey) Ryan.

Born on January 09, 1945, in St. Kyran’s, Newfoundland, Anne grew up in Freshwater. It was not that long after meeting Cyril at a dance when they married in December 1969. Ontario saw them start a family. First was Scott in 1971 (Ottawa) and Ryan followed in 1974 (Kingston). Their time in Ontario was brief. Edmonton (1976-1980), Newfoundland (1980-1982), Edmonton (1982-1983) and Nova Scotia (1983-1988) all followed. In 1988, they ended their nomadic lifestyle and stayed in the Edmonton area until her passing.

Although certainly proud of her long career with the Royal Bank, Anne’s true passion was her family. She was deeply devoted to Cyril and sacrificed much to take care of him especially as his health declined. The same was true for her two sons. Not a day went by where she didn’t worry about their health, their careers, their marriages or their children. Anne was a deeply loyal and devoted friend and there was nothing she would not do for those she cared for. She loved Bingo, darts, the occasional trip to a casino, a spirited game of cribbage or 120s or just visiting with her friends from the Legion. Even as her own health declined, she would make a point to phone her sisters, her brothers, her cousins and her friends to check-in and see how they were doing.

A good friend, a loving sister, a devoted wife and mother. Anne will be deeply missed.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our mom on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at the age of 79 years old.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Karen and Shelley (Chris); granddaughter, Shayna; as well as family and friends.

She was a devoted wife, mom, and grandma, and will be forever missed. We were very fortunate that she was a stay-at-home mom and able to take part in our many activities. She volunteered with our softball games and made her famous poppy seed cake for the countless bake sales. We will cherish all the happy memories we were blessed to have made together.

In her earlier years, mom loved to bike around town, ice skate, and play softball. She also liked reading, bingo, 790 CFCW, CTV news, and the Edmonton Oilers. You would often see her on the front step with her coffee, word search, or newspaper; giving a friendly wave as people went by; as well as enjoying the visits from her numerous furry friends.

Sylvia was predeceased by her husband, Orest;, her parents, and 2 sisters.

As per her wishes, no service will be held.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father, David Champis. He sadly left us October 17, 2025, at the age of 75 years.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy; his children, Shaunda (Andrew) and Michelle (Christopher); sisters, Barbara (Reini) and Mary Ann (Kevin); grandchildren, Rhys, Mason and Jonah; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

He is proceeded by by his parents, Louis Champis and Magdalene Gorcsi; brother and sister in law, Louis and Anne Champis.

Dave was born in Brantford, Ontario on August 4, 1950. In 1976 Dave moved to Alberta, where he pursued a career as a machinist.

Dave moved with his family to Gibbons in 1983. He gave many hours volunteering for the community and in particular the Gibbons Legion. He was well known for his talent of playing accordion. Whether with his band, a sing a long at the seniors lodge, or with a gathering of friends, Dave would bring smiles to all.

In 2010, David moved to Redwater where he spent his retired days keeping busy with mowing grass, clearing sidewalks and his favourite thing watching NASCAR on Sundays.

Dave will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Brian George Wilson

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian George Wilson, on July 19, 2026 at the age of 67 years. He was born in Edmonton, Alberta, on September 24, 1958 to Vernon and Angela (nee Skawinsky) Wilson. Brian was a truly remarkable man whose life was defined by love, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to those around him.

Brian touched the lives of many through his generous spirit, gentle nature, and the genuine care he showed to his family, friends, and community. His presence brought comfort, strength, and joy to those fortunate enough to know him, and his memory will forever be treasured by all who loved him.

Brian was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and a valued member of his community. Throughout his life, he was known for his dedication, kindness, and the positive impact he made on those around him.

Brian built a meaningful career marked by hard work, commitment, and a passion for excellence. He took great pride in his accomplishments and was respected by colleagues, friends, and community members alike. His contributions and dedication left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to work with and know him.

Brian’s greatest joy was his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband to Cindy Wilson; a devoted father to Joslin and Geordie; and a proud grandfather to Ryder, Dalton, Walker, Levi, Keegan, and Tyson. The love, guidance, and memories he created with his family will continue to live on for generations. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and community forever.

At his request cremation has taken place and no service is to be held.

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Tracey Gordon Wannamaker of Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement on Sunday, July 12th, 2026, at the age of 59 years.

Tracey lived life with a free spirit, a contagious laugh, and a heart full of love. She found joy in the simple things... being outdoors, listening to music, and dreaming of one day owning horses, which had always held a special place in her heart. Her greatest pride and deepest love were her children and grandchildren. She was kind, funny, beautiful, fiercely independent, and unapologetically herself, a light that made everyone around her smile.

She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory and carry her love with them her husband, Mike Wannamaker; her daughters, Alyssa (Nick) Mayers and Charlene Grant; her goddaughter, Leanne Grant (Curt McConnell); her beloved grandchildren, Rayne Bell, Malakai Mayers, and Ellanor Mayers; her mother, Helen Lukasik; her father and stepmother, Bruce Gordon and Sandy Gordon; her sisters, Holly Gordon, Loreli Hornby, and Amber Grudzinski; her brothers, Aaron Alexander and Shawn Gordon; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing her.

Tracey was predeceased by her beloved brother, Clinton Gordon, whose memory she held close to her heart.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and Grandpa- Michael Quinn Diakur. He passed suddenly on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the age of 65 years, he will be forever missed.

Mike enjoyed spending time with family, relaxing around a fire, fishing at the lake and being the skilled tradesman he was- could fix anything.

He leaves behind his wife, Maria Diakur; his four children, Whitney Bokenfohr (Blaine), Jacqueline Diakur (Brett), Steffaney Diakur, and Michael Diakur Jr. (Paige); his two granddaughters, Quinn and Reese; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Though our hearts are broken we will find comfort in all the loving memories we have with him.

Duane was born February 10, 1967 in Preeceville, Saskatchewan to Steve and Lorraine (nee Slugoski) Rehaluk. He grew up on the farm 6 Km east of Hazel Dell and attended Preeceville School.

Besides helping his dad and brothers on the family farm, Duane also worked for local farmers.

Duane and his brothers loved building go-carts and tinkering with equipment. He developed a love for outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and wildlife.

Upon leaving the farm armed with knowledge he achieved work in numerous fields such as roofing and heavy equipment operation.
Duane had a passion for card games like Kaizer, cribbage, and poker which often got him in trouble on-line.

He was predeceased by his mom in 2010 and his dad in 2022.

Duane is survived by his siblings, Wanda, Steven (Ida) Robert (Lenitta) and Gina (Evan); his long time best friend Karen; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Glenda Marilyn Lewisch (nee Hope)

It is with great sadness the family of Glenda Marilyn Lewisch (nee Hope) announces her passing on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at the age of 85 years. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her husband of 57 years, Karl Lewisch; Son, Greg (Lyndee) Lewisch; her brothers, John Hope and Ralph (Violet) Hope; her friend, Dianne Mah; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Glen and Amy (nee Smith) Hope; sister, Dianna Case.

Glenda's love of art began at a very young age and she was a talented artist with a love for horses, this showed through in her numerous artistic pieces. She had a love of reading and could often be found with a book in hand. Glenda enjoyed nature, being outside, and spending time in her garden.

The family of Glenda would like to thank the staff at Redwater Health Center for the care they provided to Glenda during her time there. As well as the support and compassion provided to the family.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation be made to the Redwater Art Society, box 664, Redwater, Alberta T0A 2W0 and/or the Radway Public Library, Box 220, Radway, Alberta T0A 2V0 to honor her passion for art and reading.

At her request cremation has taken place.

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of John William Szumski “Shroomie” on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at the age of 64 years. John was born July 7, 1962 in Radway, Alberta.

John is lovingly remembered by his son, Peter (Addison); his former spouse, Joanna Szumski; his loving sister, Stephanie Striegler; his nephews, Richard (Amanda), Dwayne (Candace), and Lee (Cherie); and his cherished great niece and nephews, Devon, Dylon, Zachary, Gabriella, Skyler, and Jaxon.

He was predeceased by his loving father, Peter Szumski; mother, Mary Petzoldt; and his loving brother-in-law, Neil Striegler. As well as his best friends, Mike Diakur and Duane Rehaluk of Gibbons, Alberta in a tragic accident with John on July 9, 2026.

John is cherished by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends.

John had a passion for trucking all over the country. John ran his own hot shot company.
His spare time was spent camping, fishing, having big campfires, fixing vehicles, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

John will be remembered for his vibrant love of life, his unwavering willingness to help others and his remarkable gift for long conversation. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, leaving an impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, warmth and generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Thomas “Tom” Henry Noble of Redwater, Alberta, on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the age of 81 years, surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, to Hilliard and Dorothy Noble. He was the second of six children and grew up alongside his siblings: Carolyn, Elizabeth “Betty”, James “Jim”, Walter, and Richard “Rick”.

On October 3, 1964, Tom married the love of his life, Alice Delta Lavallee. Through their marriage, Tom gained a large extended family that he cherished deeply. Together, Tom and Alice built a family rooted in love, resilience, and togetherness that now spans five generations. This October, they would have celebrated 62 years of marriage. A hardworking and determined man, Tom left home at the age of 15 to work in the logging camps of northern Saskatchewan.

As a young husband and father, he worked as an ironworker on projects throughout Alberta and British Columbia during the 1960's and 1970's. Never one to shy away from hard work, Tom pursued his dream of becoming a truck driver and, in 1976, obtained his Class 1 license. Over the next four decades, he built a respected career in trucking, hauling pipe for major pipeline projects, moving rig equipment, working as a “mudman” for a directional drilling company, and operating his own trucking business. Even after retirement, Tom continued sharing his knowledge by training aspiring drivers until health challenges forced him to step away from the profession he loved.

Above all else, Tom was a devoted family man. He was a steady and dependable presence in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—always there for sporting events, school activities, late-night rides, and life’s milestones, both big and small. He loved road trips, scenic drives through the countryside, and spending time tinkering in his shop. Family visits were among his greatest joys, whether travelling throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, or British Columbia. He especially treasured trips to Dawson Creek to visit his beloved Aunt Renee.

Tom will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Alice; his children, Joanne (Calvin) Williams of Redwater, Lianne (Fred) Dawson of Spruce Grove, Tracey (Garnet) Van Meter of Redwater, and Tom (Christine Sanderson) of Spruce Grove; his 21 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Guhl of Red Deer; his brother, Rick (Florence) Noble of Calgary; and many members of the Lavallee family, including Phillip (Maxine) Lavallee, Emil (Annette) Lavallee, Marcel (Yvette) Lavallee, Fernand Lavallee, Doris Seltzer, Mautice (Yolande) Lavallee, Victor Lavallee, Paul Lavallee, Lorraine (Earl) Huenison, and Alphonse (Glenda) Lavallee, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Tom was predeceased by his parents, Hilliard and Dorothy Noble; his brothers, Walter and Jim; his sister, Betty; sisters-in-law, Cecile Dumas and Lilian Lavallee; brothers-in-law, Jules Dumas, Leslie Seltzer and David Guhl; and his nephew and dear friend, Eldon Purdy.

Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
