On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, Dorothy Gadwa of Kehewin Cree Nation passed away in Bonnyville at the age of 86 years.
Dorothy will be forever missed and loved by her children: George John, Jeffery Moyah, Jason (Barb) Kowerchuk; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband: John Gadwa; daughter: Stella Gadwa; granddaughters: Alexis and Sarah Gadwa; grandson: Joshua Cook-John; parents: Patrick and Mariah Cardinal; brothers: Clifford, Paul, and Francis Cardinal; sisters: Pauline Cardinal and Caroline Paul.

On Thursday, August 20, 2026, Frieda Blackman of Cold Lake First Nations passed away at the age of 66 years, surrounded by the love of her family.
Frieda will be forever remembered and deeply loved by her children: Jonathan Blackman (Clarissa), Keith Blackman, and Cassandra Blackman (Mario); her grandchildren: Jerome, Tia, Tatiana, Raven, Knox, and Nina; her brothers: Adelard Blackman and Ken Blackman; and her many nieces and nephews: Sheila, Benjamin, Jason, Amy, Kennedy, Keira, Garrett, Catriona, Kirk, Mick, Tia, and Savannah. She also leaves behind numerous extended relatives and friends who will hold her memory close.
Frieda was predeceased by her son Jeffrey Blackman; her grandson Ryker Blackman; her parents Bernadette and Ralph Blackman; and her brother Bruce Blackman.
Frieda found joy in the simple, steady rhythms of life. She loved travelling and discovering new places, and she felt a special freedom when she was driving, taking in the quiet beauty of the places ahead. Bingo nights brought her laughter and companionship, and her fondness for lilies reflected her gentle spirit. These small joys were woven through her days and will be remembered fondly.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Tanille Dawn Night of Bonnyville, Alberta, who passed away on August 10, 2026, in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 34 years. Tanille will be remembered with love by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Tanille is lovingly survived by her children: Kendrick Night, Alexia Night; parents: Shelley Night, Larry Mann; siblings: Scott (Nicole) Night, Randal (Tarah) Night, Mary Anne Night, Janayah Night, Denzel Mann, Anna Tabak (Ryan), Cheyenne Night; paternal grandfather, Larry Garnot.

Tanille was predeceased by her brother: Larry Mann, Jr.; maternal grandparents: Margaret (Hector) Gadwa; paternal grandmother: Olive Fourstar; maternal grandfather: Francis Night.

The family of Charmaine Leigh Sinclair-Nest of Cold Lake, Alberta is heartbroken to announce her sudden passing at the age of 58 years.

Charmaine will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and the deep love she had for her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world. She treasured every moment with them and created countless memories that will be forever cherished.

She found happiness in tending to her garden, where she lovingly nurtured flowers and plants, and she had a remarkable talent for sewing. Whether creating something beautiful by hand or sharing her gifts with those she loved, Charmaine's creativity reflected the warmth and generosity of her heart.

Charmaine is lovingly survived by her husband: Dwayne “Sonny” Nest; children and stepchildren: Tyson (Dewie) Charland, Windwalker Charland, Maureen (Blaize) Charland, William (Kyla) Young, Sharon (Myron) Kultgen, Sheldon Nest, Stacey Nest, Solomon Nest, and Shane Nest; grandchildren: Tyson Jr., Maximus, Trayson, Daniel, Naiya, Ashlyn, and Brynn; her mother: Phyllis Hildebrandt; siblings: Dana (Brad) Greenbank, Noel (Nusha) Sinclair, Denise (Daryl) New, Bonna Wilk; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Though her time with us was far too short, Charmaine's love, kindness, and gentle spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and treasured memories that will never be forgotten.

With sorrow the family of Howard Fleming, announces his passing on August 7, 2026, in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 65 years.

Howard lived his life with a warm and friendly spirit that touched his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. He was a man who valued simple pleasures and meaningful connections, and he carried himself with a sturdiness that made others feel safe. Whether he was sharing a conversation, enjoying a good cup of coffee, or spending time with the people he loved most, Howard brought sincerity and steadiness to every moment.

Howard spent many years working in the oilfield, where he was respected for his dedication and strong work ethic. His work history was an important part of his story, but it was his character that truly defined him.

Howard is lovingly remembered by the mother of his children, Connie Kachmar, his sons, Jess Fleming (Leah) of Edmonton, Daniel Fleming of Edmonton, and Dakota Fleming of Owl River. He also leaves behind his cherished granddaughters, Violet Joy and Virginia Faye Fleming, who brought him great pride and joy.
Howard is survived by his sisters, Holly (Dave) Mielke, Shelly (Ken) Hutchison, Marcy MacEachern, and brother, Sheldon (Meghan) Fleming, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and many friends.

Howard was predeceased by his parents, Betty and Andy Fleming, and by his beloved grandparents, Jess and Fay Erickson.

Howard found joy in the outdoors and in the routines that made life meaningful. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and riding his hog, and he appreciated the peace and freedom that came with time spent outside. He also loved gardening (especially with his grand daughters) and the vegetables that came from it, finding satisfaction in wiping the soil from the harvest and in sharing the rewards of that work with family. More than anything, he valued time with his family, and those gatherings, conversations, and everyday moments will be remembered as some of the most treasured parts of his life.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Michel Alan Foley announces his passing in Medicine Hat, Alberta, at the age of 55 years.
Michel is lovingly survived by his twin daughters, Mikayla Rose Foley and Lola Monique Foley, who were the centre of his world and the greatest joy of his life. His devotion to them was steady, wholehearted, and unwavering.
Michel had a lifelong passion for truck driving, taking great pride in the work and the independence of the open road. He enjoyed the company of family and friends, always happiest when surrounded by the people he loved. Michel appreciated a good laugh, and his easy humour and warm presence brought comfort and lightness to those around him.
He is also survived by his special friend, Melinda Kovach, and her family; his parents, Ken and Ruby Foley; and his siblings: Don Foley, Candace Cumby (Greg), Julie Bellamy, Melissa Foley, Sheldon Foley, Ledale Kolody, Jim Foley (Danielle), and Debby Lemieux (Armand).
Michel is further survived by his father, Michele Beaulieu (Theresa Charlo), and his siblings: Noonee Sanspariel, Layla Charlo, Sylvia Charlo, Toncha Charlo, and Boniface Charlo; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will hold his memory close.
Michel’s quiet strength, gentle nature, and deep love for his family will be remembered always.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Morgan William Swindler of North Battleford, Saskatchewan announce his unexpected passing in Lloydminster, Alberta at the age of 43 years.

Morgan will be lovingly remembered by his 2 children: Kianna and Kaelynn; mother: Ruby Swindler; siblings: Nick Swindler, Melanie Montour (Ashely), Mallory Swindler, Brittany Harper, and Lisa Stoddart (Chris); his second family Carol and Darrell Delorme (mom and dad); Chantelle, Bud (Sherry) Dallas, Dayton and Ian; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces, great nephews that he called his grandchildren; as well as his millions of friends whom he loved dearly.

Morgan was predeceased by his father: Larry George Harper; step-mother: Bonnie Harper.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Bonnie Jean Wettlaufer announces her passing at the Bonnyville Healthcare Centre at the age of 51 years.

Bonnie was a remarkably kind, caring, and loving person. Above all else, she cherished her family and found her greatest happiness in simply being surrounded by her children and loved ones. Her warmth, gentle spirit, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed.

Bonnie is lovingly survived by her sons: Dalton Wettlaufer, Brian Wettlaufer, Nathan Wettlaufer.

She is also remembered with deep affection by her father, Brian Gilmore; her sister, Allison (Craig) Derrah; her brother, Brent Gilmore (Vicky Stanley); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Bonnie was predeceased by her mother, Thressa Gilmore; her maternal grandparents, Tressa & Berton Woodcock; and her paternal grandparents, Hazel & Bertrum Gilmore.

To honor Bonnie’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held at a later date.

It is with great sadness that the family of Lee Sydney Miller announces his sudden passing in Bonnyville, Alberta, at the age of 75 years.

Born in Hans County, Nova Scotia, Lee was a kind-hearted man who loved a good joke, enjoyed playing the guitar, and possessed a talent for fixing just about anything.

Lee was predeceased by his two sons, Kelly and Scott Miller; his parents; and three older siblings.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Leila Abram; his daughter, April Miller; four siblings; and numerous grandchildren.

A Celebration of Lee’s Life will be held at Leila & Lee’s residence (4803 - 43rd Street) on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.
