Treavor Eger Obituary

With great sadness we share the passing of Treavor Eger July 27, 2026 at age 60. Born in North Bay Ontario he moved to Cold Lake as a child in 1969. He graduated from Grand Centre High School Class of 84. He was rarely idle, working as a hockey referee, at the Drive in with Herb and Trudy, tow truck driver, glass shop with Reg McDonald, scaffolder, siding installer and national construction safety officer. He grew up at the Cold Lake Legion, volunteering at steak nights, catering with the Ladies Auxiliary, and spent several years serving in various executive positions. His severe arthritis, spinal injury and ensuing surgeries kept him from many of his favorite pastimes such as golf and darts. His quality of life began deteriorating rapidly the last few years so although we will miss him, he is no longer suffering and can fly free again.
He was predeceased by his father and mother Bill and Darlene Eger and father and mother-in-law Larry and Pat Walton.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 32 years Cari McKeown, son Matthew McKeown, granddaughters Nina and Heidi McKeown, daughter Teri McKeown, devoted brother Scott and wife Karen, and finally his protective sister Tracy and her husband Randy Zaharko. Over the years the Gelinas and McDonald families and longtime staff of D&B convenience completed the extended family.
As per his request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choosing. And when friends gather please raise a glass … he’ll be joining you in spirit!

Respectively submitted by the family.

07/28/2026

With shattered hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, Caellum, who left this world far too soon at the age of 12. Though his time with us was heartbreakingly short, the love, laughter, and unforgettable memories he gave us will remain with us forever.

Caellum was a boy with a spirit larger than life. He was happiest when he was on the ice proudly wearing his Cold Lake Ice Jersey, out biking, fishing at the lake or spending time with the people he loved.

Hockey wasn't just a game to Caellum - it was part of who he was. A devoted Edmonton Oilers fan, he dreamed big, and played hard, the rink was one of the places where his passion truly shined.

Beyond his adventurous spirit, Caellum will be remembered for the incredible person he was. He had a heart full of kindness and selflessness, always willing to help someone in need or make sure no one felt left out. His larger-than-life personality, quick wit, and perfectly timed sarcasm kept everyone laughing. He had a gift for making people smile and turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories.

To his friends, Caellum was the one who made every adventure more exciting, every road trip more memorable, and every laugh a little louder. His joy was contagious, and his loyalty and friendship were gifts that everyone who knew him cherished. To his family, he was our greatest blessing, our pride, and the center of our world.

Although his journey ended far too soon, Caellum's legacy lives on in every hockey game played with passion, every day spent outdoors, and every act of kindness shown to another. He taught us to be brave, to laugh often, to love deeply, and to embrace life with an open heart.

Caellum leaves behind a family who loved him beyond measure, countless friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts, and a community made better simply because he was part of it.

Left to treasure his memories are his Mother, Amy MacLeod; his Grandparents, Gary & Marjorie Po***ck; Aunt, Kelly (Mark), and cousin, Gage; Great Grandmother, Maisy Gallant (Gus). Predeceased by his Great Grandfather, Dalton Po***ck; Great Aunts, Wendy (Ricky), Brenda (Peter), Mary (Wayne), Linda; also predeceased by Great Uncle, Gerald.

Caellum is also survived by his Father, Ian MacLeod; his grandfather and grandmother, Carol Sasseville (Jack); Great Uncle, Ken Ryder (Becky); Great Aunts, Marie Fitzgerald (Charlie), Cathy MacDonald (Bruce) and cousins. Predeceased by Grandfather, David and Uncle, Graham.

He was also blessed with a loving new found family: “Papa” Shawn; his brother and best friend, Ryan; his sisters, Rylee, Calista, and Cheyenne (Austin); and his beloved nephew, “Baby” Asher, who meant so much to him.

He will also be deeply missed by many other family members, and friends and the entire Cold Lake hockey community.

Forever 12. Forever #14. Forever loved.

"Some people leave footprints on our hearts so deep that time can never erase them. Though we cannot hold your hand anymore, we will carry your love with us every day for the rest of our lives."

A Celebration of Caellum's Life will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at the Riverhurst Community Hall, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
