Last week was filled with sunshine, smiles, and plenty of fun activities at Vedanta Living! We took a walk through downtown Bowmanville and stopped by the Enniskillen General Store for some ice cream. We enjoyed some music and manicures in the café, with lots of chatting and relaxing. And of course, we had to try an iced coffee tasting! We sampled different creamers and picked our favorites.

It was a great week of good treats, good music, and good company!

We kicked off our first resident BBQ on the back terrace with hamburgers and hotdogs grilled by Luis, along with salads made by our cooks. It was a great afternoon to enjoy lunch outside and sit with some different friends!

After lunch, we enjoyed w**e, sangria, and live entertainment from Mike and Hope Thomas. The weather was perfect, and even some of our neighbours from the community stopped by to enjoy the music!

We’re looking forward to many more BBQs throughout the rest of the summer! A pretty great way to spend a summer afternoon.

Our residents had a colourful day of creativity and fun! We made our very own tie-dye shirts, and a few days later we proudly wore our creations for Tie-Dye Day! We even had some residents bring out the tie-dye shirts they made last summer, proving that a great shirt never goes out of style!

Volunteers Wanted at Vedanta Living!

Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your local community, meet wonderful people, and make a difference in the lives of others? Vedanta Living is a local independent living retirement community, and we’re looking for friendly, compassionate volunteers to join our community!

We’re looking for volunteers to help with daily programming, activities, social gatherings, and special events throughout the year.

We have lots of exciting things coming up in the Fall and Winter seasons, including our first Welcome Fall Bash! Volunteers of all ages are welcome! Your time, experiences, and stories can bring meaningful connection and joy to our residents.
Whether you’re interested in helping regularly or joining us for special events, we’d love to hear from you.

Our home was filled with extra wagging tails, happy faces, and lots of love for Bring Your Dog to Work Day! Our staff had so much fun bringing their furry friends in for the day, and we saved the best part for last — an afternoon of dog visits with our residents in the courtyard!

The smiles, laughter, and cuddles made for such a wonderful afternoon. It was clear that our four-legged visitors brought a little extra joy to everyone’s day! Thank you to our staff for sharing their beloved pups with us and helping make the day so special!

Italy Day was a bellissimo celebration!

Our residents and team embraced the spirit of Italy by dressing in red, white, and green for a day filled with delicious food, laughter, and great company.

We enjoyed a wonderful spread of w**e, cheese, olives, and our chefs' homemade onion jam before sitting down to an Italian-inspired dinner featuring spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread, and a delicious orange ricotta cake for dessert.

There's nothing quite like spending a beautiful summer day with friends, good music, and plenty of laughter—and that's exactly what we've been doing this past week!

Our residents enjoyed a relaxing Cocktail Hour in the courtyard, cooled off with refreshing Piña Coladas on the back terrace, and treated themselves to delicious Build-Your-Own Ice Cream Sundaes while soaking up the sunshine.
