🚶Out for a Walk? Check for ticks - 🕷️

The 60-Second Tick Check

Use this systematic scan to ensure you don't miss any hitchhikers:
🐕Head & Face: Check around the muzzle, eyes, lips, and deep inside the ear folds.
🐶Neck & Chest: Slide your dog's collar off and thoroughly inspect the skin beneath it.
🐾Legs & Paws: Work your way down all four legs, feeling underneath the armpits and making sure to part the fur directly in between their toes and foot pads.
🐕Belly & Tail: Check the soft skin of the belly and underneath the base of the tail.

🏕️🐾 Camping & Cottage Season: Is Your Dog Emergency-Ready? 🐾🏕️

With camping and cottaging season here, many of us are getting ready to enjoy the outdoors with our dogs! While it’s a great time for adventure, it’s also important to be prepared in case of an emergency.

🎒 Build a Dog Emergency Kit
Having a basic kit on hand can make a big difference if something unexpected happens. Consider including:
• Any medications your dog takes (plus extras)
• A copy of your dog’s medical records and vaccination history
• Bandages, gauze, and antiseptic wipes
• Tweezers or a tick remover
• Booties or paw protection
• Extra food and water, plus bowls
• A leash, collar, and ID tags
• A recent photo of your dog (in case they get lost)
• A blanket or towel

📍 Know Before You Go
Before heading out, take a few minutes to:
• Look up the nearest emergency veterinary clinic to your destination
• Save their contact information in your phone
• Plan your route in case you need to get there quickly

🚨 Be Prepared, Stay Safe
Nature is unpredictable—ticks, injuries, and unexpected illness can happen anywhere. Being prepared helps ensure your dog gets the care they need as quickly as possible. Monitor chewing sticks and ensure fire safety!

🐶💚 Have fun, stay safe, and enjoy your outdoor adventures together!

If you have questions about travel safety, tick prevention, or what to pack for your pet, feel free to reach out to our team—we’re happy to help!
