LACKMI - PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Known simply as Lackmi, our Registered Physiotherapist, Lackmi Vaidya has more than 13 years experience fulfilling physiotherapy duties in both clinics and hospital settings. Lackmi believes in clinical reasoning and evidence-based practices. She is adroit with manual therapies like Mobilisation, Myofascial Release, Soft/ Deep Tissue Release, Neural Mobilization, and Taping Techniques. She also incorporates personalized/ purposed-based exercise programs including core strengthening workouts, stability training, and dynamic stability disciplines. Lackmi completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India, after which she pursued Diplomas in Sports Physiotherapy, Sports Management and Sports Medicine. Currently she is working towards her Acupuncture Certification from Acupuncture Canada. As part of her ongoing education she continues to explore manual therapy, cervical dysfunction and various other specialties that help her offer the up-to-date techniques for her clientele. Apart from work, she enjoys sports like tennis, table tennis, badminton, track and field sports, and swimming.

MAGGIE LOPES - MASSAGE THERAPIST

Maggie graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Centennial College in June 2002. Her interest in healthcare and wellness also led her to continue her studies with an extensive Acupuncture program; which she graduated from in 2007.

She is a skilled practitioner at treating acute injuries, chronic conditions, pre and post-natal massage, deep tissue, myofascial, trigger point therapy, and relaxation focused treatments. She has experience working in a variety of settings including physiotherapy, chiropractic, as well as gyms and wellness clinics. This experience has given her the opportunity to treat a variety of conditions.

KIM VAN DYK - MASSAGE THERAPIST

Kimberly graduated with an Advanced Diploma of Massage Therapy from Centennial College in 2000. In her years as a massage therapist, Kimberly has worked in many differing fields of massage, from athletics, to rehab, to spa. Her diversification enables her to be able to treat from relaxation to deep tissue comfortably. Her passion for alternative healthcare has directed her to further her education in this field by returning to school for Osteopathy. Kimberly believes that massage is crucial for an overall sense of wellbeing for her clients, be it to alleviate pain, help with an injury, decrease stress and increase relaxation. HAILEY KAUFMANN - HOLISTIC NUTRITIONIST

After completing her Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology (BA Kin.) and Masters in Fitness Science (MFSc), Hailey went on to work in cardiovascular rehabilitation clinics in both Toronto and Vaughan. Through guiding patients through physical rehabilitation programs, Hailey recognized the importance of a complimentary nutrition plan to help patients reach their health goals and feel their best from the inside out. Hailey went back to school to become a Certified Nutritional Practitioner (CNP) and she now practices both exercise and nutritional counselling. Her years of education have led her to adopt a well-rounded approach to chronic disease management and recovery.

Hailey’s favourite hobbies include recipe creation, Peloton workouts, and walking in nature with her rescue dog Rudy. She cares deeply about the success of her clients and does her absolute best to help them achieve their weight loss goals.

DR. ROB RAPONI - NATUROPATH

Dr. Raponi is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and York University. His undergraduate degree in Kinesiology left him wanting more in terms of helping others. Having been around naturopathic medicine all his life, he knew right away that he wanted to help others in the same way he had been helped in the past. During his time at the college, Rob chose to pursue a focus in sports medicine where he honed in on his management of pain and recovery, weight loss and nutrition in order to return others back to optimal health.

Dr. Raponi is also a Certified Sports Nutritionist from the International Society of Sports Nutrition (CISSN) and lectures on sports nutrition at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Since graduating, Dr. Raponi has completed additional training in Cold Laser Therapy, Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy and has gotten certification in order to be able to offer injectable vitamin therapy as well as intravenous infusion therapy (IVIT).

ERIK GOUVEIA - PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Erik graduated from the University of Guelph in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. After working as a kinesiologist for two years, Erik travelled to Glasgow, Scotland where he completed a Master of Science in Physiotherapy in 2018.

In his clinical practice, Erik works with patients to determine an approach to recovery that best suits their goals. He uses soft tissue and joint mobilization techniques in conjunction with specific, evidence-based exercises to help patients regain function and optimize movement patterns.

Erik has a keen interest in physical fitness and performance and has worked with competitive athletes throughout his career. He looks forward to continuing his professional development with additional courses in acupuncture, manual therapy and vestibular rehabilitation.

Erik welcomes people of all ages and from all walks of life to visit the First Care Centre in Bradford for an assessment.

DR. STEVE DUNN - CHIROPRACTOR

Dr. Steve Dunn graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where he fine tuned his diagnostic and treatment skills. Following his desire to provide comprehensive care to the public he completed his Contemporary Acupuncture for Medical Professionals at McMaster University.

Dr. Steve Dunn’s passion for chiropractic care developed stems from the treatment he received for several sports injuries he obtained as an active youth in competitive sports. His realization that the chiropractic care was for him came at a young age when most other therapies he pursued to alleviate a severe injury left him in pain and unsatisfied with his progress. “A Chiropractor was the first person in over a week that could allow me to breathe fully and without pain.”
