The absolute easiest and most effective way to increase your energy production is to go outside in the morning 🌞

Morning sunlight contains an array of wavelengths that kickstart your circadian rhythm, produce critical neurotransmitters & hormones and directly improve your mitochondrial energy production.

This is why sun exposure/illumination is one of the ‘Core 4’ morning routine habits that I believe everyone can benefit from implenting.

If you want a deeper dive on how to optimize your morning routine listen to the whole podcast or subscribe to my newsletter for a downloadable guide (both links are in my bio).

Herbal goodies arrived in the mail today! 🌱

We are stocking up on some herbal tinctures for the spring season - many of them supporting detoxification as spring is the best time for physical cleansing.

It’s important to incorporate detox practices into your daily life at all times of the year but IMO periods of more intensive cleansing are essential with all of our toxic exposures!

ALWAYS start by supporting the organs of elimination.

Liver detox: your liver is responsible for the biotransformation of harmful toxins into chemicals that can be easily excreted. Spring is the season of the liver in Chinese medicine and it’s not uncommon to experience an aggravation of liver-related symptoms this time of year such as skin problems, irritability, digestive issues, headaches, and allergies to name a few.

Lymph drainage: Your lymphatics are the “sewage” system of your body draining your cells of waste matter. You actually have FAR more lymph fluid in your body than blood. Lymphatic herbs generally have an affinity to also support kidney function.

Digestive support: Poor digestion results in bowel toxicity which eventually enters your blood stream and overburdens your liver. Bitters are the ultimate digestive tonic stimulating the secretion of ALL digestive “juices.” Bitters also have an impact on the liver supporting the production and release of bile to further support digestion, elimination and clean up your gut. Plus they taste great 🤫

If you feel called to do a spring cleanse and need some guidance we are happy to help!

Thank you for supplying us with local medicine 🙏🏽

NATURE’S BEST MEDICINE FOR THE ❤️

Hawthorn berries are one of the most well-known cardiotonics aka heart tonifiers 🍒

Hawthorn is exceptionally safe and is indicated for just about any heart condition. It decreases blood pressure, improves heart contractility and strengthens blood vessels.

The berries can be eaten raw, I’ve been munching on a few fresh ones every morning but I harvested a good bunch to make a tincture (alcohol extract). After 3-4 weeks it will be done and I should have a good supply of heart medicine for the year! ❤️💪🏽

Considering another harvest to make a berry syrup, have any fellow foragers tried this? Any tips? Let me know ⬇️
