Small moments of tension can lead to big problems.

Maybe it was a sly comment in a meeting, a conversation you’re avoiding, an unmet expectation, or even neglecting to acknowledge racism in the workplace. For leaders, these moments can feel tense, but what you do in these moments shapes everything.

Consider your current strategy. When difficult moments arise, do avoid them, shut down, try to control the situation, or are you too busy to even notice it?

The problem isn’t the moment, it’s how the moment is handled. Your natural response can become the catalyst for reduced productivity, retention, job satisfaction, and absenteeism.

So, how can you navigate moments of tension with clarity?

Join us for our next Leadership Insight Series Session which focuses on Leading through the tension: Navigating difficult moments with clarity.

The session will take place on April 28, 2026 at 7:00PM.

It is complimentary and virtual.

I sit in therapy rooms with people who are breaking down because of how they’re being led. And I sit in boardrooms with leaders who have no idea they’re the reason.
That gap is why I built the Leadership Insight Series — a free monthly live session where I bring what I’m seeing clinically, what the research says, and what I’m hearing inside organizations, and turn it into something leaders can actually use. Comment leadership to reserve your seat today!

All this month we are making space for difficult conversations about the Black experience in the workplace.

For many Black professionals, challenging moments aren’t dramatic or obvious.
They’re quiet. Cumulative. And over time, they shape how safe people feel at work.

And for leaders and HR professionals reading this, these experiences often aren’t intentional.
But they do have a real and negative impact.

Silence, disengagement, and turnover rarely come from one incident.
They grow in environments where people don’t trust that speaking up will be met with care.

That’s why we developed a leadership workshop focused on culturally responsive leadership, responding skillfully to race-related feedback, and building psychological safety for all employees.

This work is about supporting Black and racialized employees and equipping leaders with the tools to respond well, build trust, and retain strong talent.

If this resonates, whether because you’ve lived it or because you want to do better, we’re opening a waitlist for our next workshop in March.
