I love the autumn season so much. I love cooler weather as a person who can overheat easily. The hotter and hotter summers are getting harder to bear!

This change that has happened my entire life and at times this can be hard to accept because this means winter is near.

Everyday acceptance looks like allowing myself to enjoy the changes each season brings without being upset with myself for not loving the parts I do not love.

Acceptance is a skill! The more we embrace the more we can let go of.

Compassionate Path Therapy is accepting new clients! With the seasons changing, reflection over the past year comes with it.

Though mental health is more openly discussed I get this question often: what is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapist is a designation here in the province of Ontario that requires licensure from the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

Similarly to how nurses and doctors have licenses they must renew annually. Many provinces have their own designations for therapists as well.

The client’s well-being is the most important thing. I like to think of myself as someone who you are hiring to help you. And that is something I do not take lightly, though I do love a good joke with a client. If you or someone is looking to make a change, I could be the right fit! Links are in the bio to book a consultation.

There is a difference between control and responding.

We cannot change what we are experiencing or feeling if they are already happening. What is within our control is what we can do to soothe our pain, let joy in, or sitting with it all.

Controlling and trying to restrain the biological process our bodies need to live won’t stop them. Emotions to the body is like breathing. We can try to hold our breath, but we need it to live. Let yourself breathe.

Your body has helped you survive every hard situation 🙌🏾.
And your body will continue to.

It is safe to be known by others. Not everyone is trying to harm you and you can build trust within yourself. There are so many options available and giving yourself permission to seek them could lead you to the life you want.

There are many more experiences to be felt, including joyous ones.

Going back to yourself is not easy after experiencing pain or traumatic events but you are on your WAY.🤍

Emotional regulation is not innate!!

To grow going towards the uncomfortable, the hard will be potentially triggering while trying to balance rest and joy.
Luckily it is a skill that can be learned!

Emotional regulation helps us get through the inevitable stressful life events we face day to day.
