Summer In-Home Music Visits Available 🎶

Looking for meaningful music experiences and support this summer?

Chickadee Music Services offers personalized in-home music visits for children, adults, and seniors throughout Brantford and surrounding communities.

Sessions may include:

For children and youth
• beginner music lessons (4 and up)
• music exploration (0-4 years old)
• emotional regulation support (all ages)
• music therapy for physical or developmental milestones support
• sibling sessions

For adults and individuals with disabilities
• individualized music therapy support
• support with communication and self-expression

For seniors and older adults
• music for memory and cognitive stimulation
• emotional wellness and connection
• personalized sing-alongs and engagement
• supportive visits in private homes or residential living arrangements

Sessions are adapted to each individual’s goals, needs, and relationship with music.

Over the past couple of years, I’ve had the privilege of bringing music into some really meaningful spaces in our community 💛

Today I want to highlight Adult Recreation Therapy Centre, a place that has been supporting adults in our community for many years through programs that focus on connection, independence, and overall well being.

They provide adult day programs and therapeutic recreation opportunities for seniors, adults with disabilities, and caregivers, all in a really supportive and welcoming environment where people can feel comfortable and included.

I’ve had the opportunity to come in on a contract with an amazing music therapy business, Beyond the Studio and lead music sessions here, and it’s been such a grounding and meaningful experience. Music in this space has a way of opening people up, bringing out connection, and creating moments of joy that feel really real and human.

If you’re in the Brantford area and looking for supportive programming for a loved one, this is a place worth knowing about.

I’m excited to share that today I’ll be presenting a workshop for the Grand Erie District School Board focused on supporting transitions for students with special needs using music!

Through Chickadee Music Services, I’m passionate about using music-based approaches to help students feel supported, regulated, and confident during times of change.

Grateful for the opportunity to connect with educators, educational assistants, and contribute to meaningful conversations around student success 💛

Welcome Spring!!! 🌱🌸☀️

Today marks the first day of spring, a season of growth, renewal, and fresh energy. To say I have been waiting for spring is an understatement. I have been YEARNING for the spring weather to return as soon as possible so I can start my garden!

March is also Music Therapy Month, a time to recognize the impact music can have in supporting communication, emotional well being, connection, and overall quality of life. It is a reminder of how meaningful and purposeful music can be when used intentionally.

At Chickadee Music Services, I see this every day. Whether it is building confidence in a child, supporting emotional expression, or helping someone reconnect with memories through familiar songs, music continues to create powerful and lasting moments.

As we move into this new season, I am looking forward to continuing this work and welcoming new opportunities for growth, connection, and creativity.

If you have a loved one living in a retirement or long-term care home and would like to make their day extra special, I’m offering personalized singing visits.

I bring flowers, sing Happy Birthday, favourite songs, or seasonal/Christmas music, and spend meaningful one-on-one time connecting with your family member. These visits are more than just singing — I gently draw on my music therapy background to support connection, memory, comfort, and emotional well-being.

Before the visit, I’ll ask for a short list of favourite artists or songs so the music can be personalized and familiar, creating a more meaningful experience.
