Hi everyone,

I have some very sad news to share with our Turning Point family. Our tiny tap dancer, Oscar, passed away yesterday. 💔🐾

Bre came home on Thursday after Oscar woke up very ill. His doctors transferred him to OVC, and when we visited him, he seemed to be doing better, which gave us so much hope. Unfortunately, on Friday they realized that Oscar may have had a neurological damage. His condition progressed quickly, and yesterday the most loving and humane choice was made to let him go peacefully and send him to God.

Oscar may have been tiny, but his presence in our clinic was anything but small. As one of our therapy dogs, he had an incredible way of knowing when someone needed him. He offered comfort to clients during difficult moments, brought smiles and lightness into heavy days, and provided the kind of quiet, unconditional support that sometimes reaches places words cannot. He cared for our therapists too—often appearing at just the right moment for a cuddle, a visit, or one of his famous little tap dances.

Most importantly, Oscar was Bre’s soul doggy. Their bond was incredibly special, and I know Bre is experiencing an enormous loss right now. Please hold her close in your hearts and give her the space and support she needs in the days ahead.

Oscar was deeply loved, and he was part of Turning Point in a way that can never be replaced. There will be a little less tapping through our halls now, and we are all going to miss him terribly.

Rest peacefully, sweet Oscar. Thank you for taking care of all of us. 🤍🐾

Children and teens often struggle to express their feelings, which can manifest as big emotions, behavioral changes, anxiety, or school difficulties. At Turning Point Counseling Center, we approach each child with compassion and curiosity rather than labeling them as problems. Our goal is to understand what their behavior is communicating and help them feel more supported, connected, and regulated.
