The Fire That Carries Us
My grandfather said a strong spirit
is not the one that never trembles,
but the one that keeps moving
when the whole world turns against its path.
He taught me that freedom has no fence,
and courage cannot be borrowed.
It must be found deep within,
where the voices of our ancestors still remain.
There will be seasons that test the heart,
days when even hope feels far away.
But the earth remembers every brave step,
and the wind never forgets a true name.
So I carry what my people carried—
patience through darkness,
pride without anger,
and a quiet fire no storm can silence.
For some journeys are not meant to save us.
They are meant to remind us
how powerful our spirit has always been.
