Spinach is one of the most crucial superfoods when it comes to winter foods.
It’s a powerhouse of nutrients and flavor and can be incorporated in a variety of ways in our diet to gain the most out of it.
🥗 It contains FOLATES- the active form of vitamin B9 that is essential for neurotransmitter function and cellular growth. This is important to improve moods and manage winter depression.
🥗 Spinach is high in Insoluble Fiber that can help with digestive concerns. It also manages hunger cravings, regulates blood sugar levels and supports bowel movements preventing constipation that is very common with the onset of greasy/ fat heavy winter meals.
🥗 It also allows you to manage blood pressure, keeping it low and reducing inflammation while aiding in weight loss.
🥗 Spinach is also beneficial as a rich source of anti-oxidants, especially vitamin C and E and antioxidants.
🥗 This become extremely important in the winter months as our immunity is already compromised.
Antioxidants help us improve our immunity and fight infections.
This is how I add Spinach to my food every day. You can do it too!
✅ Add to your morning breakfast omelettes.
✅ Add it to your Sandwich in place of lettuce.
✅ Sautee it with some mushrooms and add it to your crepe stuffing.
✅ Toss it with ghee/ coconut oil with a dash of lemon juice and make it a side dish to your main meals.
