A milestone chart is not a deadline.

Two babies who are exactly the same age can be working on completely different skills. One is figuring out how to roll. The other is pulling up on the couch. And both can be right where they’re supposed to be.

The charts tell us what babies usually do around a certain month. But it really depends on your baby. A range is not a finish line.

So instead of “is my baby on time?”, try “what is my baby working on right now?” Then give them room to practice it. Floor time. Tummy time. Space to push up, reach, roll and explore.

And if something feels off, or you’re just not sure what you’re seeing, that’s a good reason to have someone take a look. Not because you’re behind. Because you deserve to understand your baby. 🤍

Send this to a mom who needs the reminder.

“Once the stitches dissolve, you’re healed.”

Most moms hear some version of this after an episiotomy. But an episiotomy isn’t just a couple of stitches. It’s a cut through your perineum, your pelvic floor and the tissue around it. Structurally, it’s a mini C-section.

Healed skin and truly healed tissue aren’t always the same thing.

As the cut heals, scar tissue forms. That’s a good thing, it’s how your body repairs itself. But it can also bind the tissue underneath together. The same way we treat a C-section scar, an episiotomy scar can use some attention too. Once the skin has healed and the scar is strong, we can work on that tissue so everything underneath moves and works together again.

If you had an episiotomy and no one ever told you this, it’s not too late to check in on that tissue. 🤍

Did anyone talk to you about this after your delivery?

“Well, you’re pregnant, of course you hurt.”

I hear this all the time, and I get why. Pregnancy changes everything. Your posture, your pelvis, your core, the way you carry weight. Of course some of that comes with discomfort.

But here’s the thing. Common doesn’t mean we stop asking why.

When a pregnant patient comes in with low back pain, pelvic pain, hip pain or round ligament pain, I don’t want to just say “yep, that’s pregnancy” and leave it there. I want to know how you’re moving. What your pelvis is doing. What tissues are taking on more load as your body adapts.

Because sometimes there are things we can actually do to help your body handle those changes better.

Pregnancy is the reason your body is changing. It shouldn’t be the end of the conversation about why you hurt.

If you’re pregnant and you want someone actually explaining what’s happening in your body, stick around. 🤍

Something NEW is coming to GrowCo this November. 👶🤍

I’m so excited to officially launch my Baby Motor Milestone Classes — two 6-week classes designed to help you better understand your baby’s movement and support the skills they’re currently working on.

And one of the most important things about these classes?

We aren’t grouping babies based on age alone.

Because babies develop at different rates, and two babies who are exactly the same age can be working on completely different skills.

Instead, choose the class that best matches where your baby is right now:

🤍 Baby on the Move
For babies working toward more independent movement — including crawling, pulling to stand, cruising and those next big gross motor skills.

Thursdays at 11:30 AM
Starting November 5th

🤍 Baby Foundations
For younger or less mobile babies building the foundations for movement — including tummy time, rolling, reaching, sitting and early transitions.

Thursdays at 12:45 PM
Starting November 5th

Over our six weeks together, we’ll use play, positioning and movement to give your baby opportunities to explore their developing skills — while helping you understand what you’re seeing and what you can do at home.

This isn’t about rushing babies through milestones or comparing them to the baby beside them.

It’s about understanding your baby, meeting them where they are, and giving them opportunities to move, play and learn. 🤍

You don’t have to wait until you’re miserable to ask for help during pregnancy. 🤍

Your body is adapting for MONTHS as your baby grows.

Your posture changes.
Your centre of mass changes.
The way you load your pelvis, hips, back and core changes.

And yes — some discomfort can absolutely come with growing a human.

But I don’t want “you’re pregnant” to be the end of the conversation.

I want to know why you’re feeling what you’re feeling, how your body is adapting, and whether there are things we can do to help you move through those changes more comfortably.

You don’t need to wait until 34 weeks and rolling over in bed feels impossible to start that conversation.

If you’re pregnant right now, follow along. This is the kind of stuff I talk about with my prenatal patients every day. 🤍

Your body is adapting every week of pregnancy.

If something feels different, the question is not “What is
wrong with me?”

It is “What is this change asking of me?”

Getting “cleared” to exercise postpartum can feel a little bit like…

Okay… now what? 😅

Because being told you can exercise again and knowing how to rebuild your body for exercise are two very different things.

I want you thinking beyond just “Can I work out yet?”

I want to know:

Can your core + pelvic floor coordinate under load?
Can we progressively build your strength?
What happens when we make things harder?
Are you having symptoms like leaking, heaviness, pain or doming?
And most importantly — what are we actually trying to get you back to?

Running? Lifting? A workout class? Picking up your kids without thinking twice?

Postpartum rehab isn’t supposed to keep you doing gentle exercises forever.

The goal is to progressively build your body’s capacity for your actual life.

And there is no one timeline for when you have to do that. 🤍

Save this for when you’re ready to start rebuilding postpartum.
