They don’t knock. They don’t need an invitation. And they definitely don’t leave when Halloween ends. Meet the lineup our veterinary team wants you to watch for:

🧛 Fleas: The Tiny Vampires
Their bites can cause intense itching and allergic skin reactions. These unwanted guests can also settle into your home, making consistent, pet-appropriate prevention important.

🕷️ Ticks: The Hitchhikers
They attach to pets and can transmit disease. Check your pet after outdoor adventures and ask us which tick protection fits their lifestyle.

🐈 A suspiciously untouched litter box.
🦮 Retractable leashes stretched across the waiting room like tripwires.
🫣 “He doesn’t bite…” whispered from the shadows.

This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for the pets who make our homes a little messier, our couches a little fuller and our lives a whole lot sweeter.

Aldershot Animal Hospital will be closed for the Thanksgiving long weekend!! 🎃🍂🍁

Wishing all our clients and their furry and feathered friends a happy holiday as we celebrate with our families!

We will be closed on Monday, October 12th and will re-open with our regular hours on Wednesday, October 14th, from 8am-6pm. 

We understand that holiday hours change, but emergencies don't! 🚨

🍬 “I checked the candy. It wasn’t toxic!”
But did your pet eat the packaging, too? 👀

When pets help themselves to Halloween treats, unwrapping is rarely their strong suit. Even if the candy isn’t toxic, swallowed wrappers can cause choking or an intestinal blockage. That’s one trick nobody wants. 🐾

Our team’s advice? Keep candy AND the crinkly evidence out of reach, including in a secure trash bin.

📞 Missing wrappers and a suspiciously innocent face? Call us or an emergency veterinary clinic promptly if you suspect your pet swallowed one. Don’t wait for symptoms—and seek immediate emergency care for trouble breathing.
