Myth : skipping meals "detoxes" the body.

It's a tempting idea — give the system a rest and let it clean itself out. But in Ayurveda the opposite tends to happen : irregular eating unsettles agni, your digestive fire, and unsteady agni is often what leaves us bloated, heavy and tired in the first place.

The truer cleanse is rhythm — warm, regular, unhurried meals your body can rely on.

If this reframes something, share it wiaht a friend who's always "too busy to eat."

End the day at the feet 👣

One of Ayurveda's gentlest rituals : a minute of warm oil massaged onto the soles of the feet before bed — padabhyanga.

It settles vata, warms the body, and coaxes a busy mind towards sleep.

Old, simple and quietly effective.

Sesame oil is traditional; wear cotton socks to avoid falls.

Save this to try tonight, and share it with someone who struggles to wind down.

How you eat is how you digest 🍈

The same meal can nourish or unsettle you depending on the state you eat in.

Ayurveda asks for something simple and almost forgotten : sit down. Put the phone away. Eat warm food, slowly with attention.

Agni, your digestive fire, answers to calm as much as it does to what's on the plate.

Save this as a gentle reminder, and share it with a fellow desk-luncher.

The body keeps its own clock ⌛

A women's energy moves in cycles, not straight lines — and Ayurveda has always honoured that.

Rest a little more in the days before your menstrual cycle, move gently as it begins, and let yourself rise with the brighter days that follow.

Living with the rhythm, rather than pushing against it every day, is its own quiet medicine.

Save this and share it with a woman who's been fighting her own tide.

Eat with the sun 🌞

Your digestive fire, agni, follows the sun — weakest at dawn and dusk, strongest at midday.

So Ayurveda recommends making lunch your largest, warmest meal, when your body is best equipped to digest it, and keeping breakfast and dinner lighter.

Save this for meal planning, and send it to someone who eats their meal at 9 pm.

I gave a talk at our clinic this week, standing in a working family medicine practice, speaking about Ayurveda. Same room. Same patients. Same care team.

That's the whole idea behind Canada's first integrated Family Medicine + Ayurveda clinic : you shouldn't have to choose between your family doctor and root-cause, whole-person medicine.

You shouldn't have to explain your Ayurvedic treatment to a physician who's never heard of it, or vice versa. Here, they're already in conversation.

Your health was never meant to live in separate boxes. Neither is your care.

Save this and share it with someone who has been bounced between systems.

Myth : constant fatigue is just part of being busy.

We've normalized running on empty.

But in Ayurveda, lasting tiredness often points to depleted ojas — the body's deep reserve of vitality and resilence.

It isn't rebuilt by pushing harder; it returns through rest, warm nourishing food, and gentler rhythms.

Your exhaustion is information — your body gently talking to you. Not a personal failing.

If this feels close to home, share it with a woman who needs to hear it.

Sleep is medicine, too 🌛

Ayurveda counts good sleep among the three pillars of health, alongside food and balanced energy.

The old guidance : be in bed by ten, before the second wind of pitta arrives and the mind grows busy again.

The body heals best on a rhythm it can trust.

Save this as your permission to rest — and share it with the friend who wears exhaustion like a medal.

One of Morocco’s most iconic sights—its famous tree-climbing argan goats! 🐐🌳

These goats are attracted to the sweet fruit of the argan tree. They eat the fleshy fruit and leave behind the hard nuts, which contain the kernels used to produce the world-renowned argan oil. While most premium argan oil today comes from carefully harvested fruit, the goats have become a symbol of this centuries-old tradition.

As someone passionate about traditional systems of health, I love discovering how cultures around the world have developed unique relationships with nature. Every journey offers a new lesson in the wisdom of plants.
