In July, we had the pleasure of welcoming Addison to our team at Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home – Burlington Chapel as part of a summer co-op placement. During her time with us, she worked alongside our funeral directors, gaining valuable firsthand experience in funeral service.
As her placement comes to an end, Addison shared this reflection:
"As my co-op placement at the funeral home comes to an end, I’ve been reflecting on everything I’ve learned over the past few months. This experience taught me the importance of compassion, respect, patience, and professionalism, and showed me how even the smallest acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference during difficult times.
I gained a greater appreciation for the care, teamwork, and attention to detail involved in supporting families and honouring loved ones with dignity. This experience helped me grow both personally and professionally, and reminded me to always treat others with kindness, as you never know what someone may be going through.
I’m so grateful to everyone who welcomed me, shared their knowledge, and supported me throughout my placement. This is an experience I’ll always carry with me, and I’ll never forget the lessons and memories made along the way."
We are grateful for the enthusiasm, kindness, and dedication Addison brought to our team and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
