🏡 What Is Long-Term Care? 🏡

Long-term care is designed to support individuals who need ongoing assistance with daily living and health-related needs due to age, illness, or disability.

It provides 24-hour access to care and support services, including assistance with personal care, medication management, meals, mobility support, and social and recreational activities. Long-term care homes are also staffed with regulated healthcare professionals who work alongside personal support workers to ensure residents receive safe, coordinated care.

In Ontario, long-term care homes are regulated and funded in part by the government, with eligibility based on an assessment of care needs.
