Yesterday we had a VERY eventful allergist appointment. It started off with a near blood bath in the waiting room after a man took off his mask. Lots of “red zone” behaviour. Then we confirmed Fletcher is no longer allergic to milk! Hooray! Nutella sandwich to celebrate! But wait, there’s more. We also found out that Fletcher developed new nut allergies to hazelnuts and walnuts. My dream of sharing a Nutella sandwich with him will likely never happen. I will have to continue to eat entire sandwiches. Ophelia remains allergic to eggs/sesame and peanuts.

🐿 Anyone else develop new nut allergies over time??

I’m finding homeschool difficult for many reasons. One of which is Fletcher’s teacher sends worksheets and we don’t have a printer. I usually just try and recreate something similar but last week I decided to just order a workbook on Amazon. This one by is pretty great. Although Fletcher won’t even look at the pages before he has a 20 minute meltdown. Usually Rosie helps him get out of his funk. In other news Finley (currently in Junior Kindergarten) is doing a grade one workbook without any issues. These kids learn SOOOOO differently. It really makes me think about large classes and how hard it must be on all the kids who have different skill levels, ways of thinking/learning etc. Also how impossible it is for the teachers. @ Burlington, Ontario

Yesterday Fletch asked if we could have a family movie night. When I asked him what he wanted to watch he told me the second most famous movie of all time. I love how random kids are sometime. Can you guess what it was? Here’s some hints.
1. The theme is on his PJ pants. 2. It was made in the 90’s 3. Bill Murray makes a cameo in it.

Did you know you can make delicious roasted chickpeas in your air fryer? I mean delicious! It's true. That air fryer is versatile I'm telling you. I didn't use a recipe really, just added some fun spices and salt to ours. I did get the cooking method off of . Super duper easy and fast. I also saved the aquafaba from the chickpea can for an eggless cake I made, I have no idea if it was tasty or not, as our bernedoodle ate the entire thing off of our counter. Tell me please, what is your favourite thing to make in the air fryer?

I started collecting Airmiles when I was like 13 or something ridiculous. I love collecting points. I know it's a way of collecting data on you, but I don't really care. I like points. The past month I've bought a toaster and Amazon gift cards with my Aeroplan points and new shoes for Ophelia with my PC plus/Optimum Points.

The LifePoints app gives you points for staying at home. Basically what most of us are doing anyways. You earn points for self-isolating.

You can use your points for gift cards and discounts off products/services or you can donate your points to support frontline workers. Join me and earn points for doing what you are doing anyways.

Want to make a very small amount of playdough out of only one ingredient that will also make your eyes burn and nostril sting? I’ve got you covered! I was actually looking for slime recipes, because my kids are desperate to make slime. Why? Because they like to torture me I think, maybe? Anyway, I don’t have any glue or borax or cornstarch, you know the normal slime stuff. I ended up finding a 3 ingredient slime recipe on Pinterest that used toothpaste, lotion and baby oil. I happened to have all 3 things in our house, so, WIN! I added food colouring as a fourth ingredient. First step was to microwave toothpaste for 30 seconds and stir over and over again until it looks like the 2nd picture here. Then let it cool a bit and start kneading it. I should have stopped here because the result of just microwaving the toothpaste was really cool. An intense and intoxicating mint smelling play dough. I ended up adding the lotion and baby oil to make it into “slime” but it just turned into a sticky mess which is now in my fridge for some reason. If you try this, STOP AT THE DOUGH STAGE!!

Baking during a pandemic. Anyone else a stress baker? I always tend to want to make cookies when I'm even the slightest bit stressed. Problem is right now people have not only panic bought toilet paper, they've also apparently bought all the flour as well. So here's a little secret baking hack for cookies that don't need flour. Spoiler alert though, these cookies are not allergy friendly (depending of course what your allergies are). If you are anything like me you buy multiple boxes of cake mix when they are on sale so you probably have 17 boxes of cake mix in your pantry. This recipe is for YOU! Take one box of cake mix (I used chocolate OBVI), 2 eggs and 1/3 cup oil. I randomly added a couple tablespoons of peanut butter (because I had a craving and it wasn't allergy friendly anyways...but this isn't necessary). You can add some chocolate chips or sprinkles or whatever fits your fancy. Pop them in the oven at 350°F for 10-12 minutes and boom, delicious cookies without needing flour from the store.
