What is shockwave therapy?
Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive highly effective treatment method approved by the FDA and Health Canada for treating a variety of Musculo-skeletal conditions. The treatment works by accelerating the healing process in the body by stimulating cellular metabolism and enhancing blood circulation to regenerate damaged tissues.
How Does it Work?
High energy soundwaves/pulses are applied to affected tissues for short periods of time creating micro-cavitation bubbles that expand and burst. The force created by these bubbles penetrates the tissues, breaking down trigger points, adhesions and scar tissue, while stimulating the cells in the body that are responsible for healing.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments varies depending on the indication and tissue response. The effect of the treatment is cumulative, so you will typically need more than one (3–5) treatment. Very often though, you will experience relief right after the first treatment.
