Côte Saint-Luc Cat Trap Neuter Return Program

Côte Saint-Luc Cat Trap Neuter Return Program Trap, Neuter, Return, Maintain of Community Cats in Cote Saint Luc. The overpopulation of feral, homeless cats in our city is a huge cause for concern.

Cote Saint Luc officially launched a Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) program in March 2011, to humanely trap, sterilize, and return feral cats to their original territory. TNR is proven as the most humane and cost-efficient way of controlling and decreasing the numbers of homeless cats. Councillor Mike Cohen, with Committee Chair Diane Liebling, spearhead the initiative, and along with a dedicated grou

p of volunteers run the program. Supporters include the Cote Saint Luc Animal Hospital, and the group is grateful for the financial support of the City of Cote Saint Luc. The committee maintains a hotline for residents to report feral cats in their area and works to educate the public about the importance of sterilizing cats and to inform the public about cat by-laws in Cote Saint Luc. Annual fundraising activities augment funding the committee receives to ensure the program can meet its objectives. Fundraisers have included an annual concert with the Musicians of the World Symphony Orchestra, a table at the Cote Saint Luc Mega Garage Sale in May, and and online raffle starting in September and going through to the end of November with the draw in December. Donations are always welcome, and tax receipts are available.

Hello All:

Two are better than one!!⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Tito (m) and Latoya (f) are 12 week old kittens who are now ready for their forever home.

🐈‍⬛❤️🐾🐈‍⬛❤️🐾🐈‍⬛❤️🐾🐈‍⬛❤️🐾🐈‍⬛❤️🐾

They were found/trapped outside with their 4 litter mates and Mom.
(Thank you Tracy Lynn).

They have been lovingly cared for by foster mom Beth Tannenbaum who has given them an abundance of love and attention…a wonderful start to a happy indoor life.

🪻❤️🌸💐🪻❤️🌸💐🪻❤️🌸💐🪻❤️🌸

I would like to see these two little angels adopted together.

Tito is still quite shy and will acclimate much better to a new home if he’s adopted with his sister.
He was, for some reason, born without a tail (🤷🏻‍♀️) and this is either genetic or may have been a birth injury.
This does not seem to impact his life in any way.

Both reliably use the litter, are good eaters, and have no health problems.

Our adoption rate is $375 per kitten but the fee will be reduced if they are adopted together.

Our adoption fee includes:

1. Vaccination: base and booster.
2. Full deworming: they have had three rounds.
3. Spay/neuter at around five months old.
4. Microchip when they are neutered.

Mom, Luna, was SNAP tested negative.

Our cats are to remain strictly indoors and there will be a home visit for their safety.

They are being fostered in CSL and a visit can be arranged at a time convenient for all.

Please contact me if you are interested.

Beautiful Luna (now Mina) was TNR’ed, with her six kittens, several weeks ago by committed cat lover and CSL resident Tracy Lynn.

Mina was released and we knew she would be well cared for…BUT, when it was determined that she was way too social to spend the rest of her life outside we brought her back in.

She has now been adopted by Melanie Z. and this is indeed a match made in heaven.

Thank you to Tracy and Melanie for your commitment to this lovely little girl.

We know she will always be cared for in a warm and loving home.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our garage sale yesterday in support of the Côte Saint-Luc Cat Trap Neuter Return Program.

❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾

Enormous gratitude to committee members
Fern Collier-Pereira, Lydia Ghazal and helpers who undertake this enormous project twice a year.

I am always grateful for their commitment to our ongoing cause of helping the stray and community cats of CSL.

Our next fundraiser will be our annual raffle starting towards the end of September and a bake sale. (not sure when… but soon..)

Please watch out for this space and as usual, we thank you in advance for supporting us.

UPDATE: #2
We continue to look for the owner of this cat but, so far, we have not been successful.

The person caring for her put a note around her collar but has not heard back from anyone.

If this is your cat, please reach out and let us know.
We are not going to allow her to stay out for the winter.

If you are reading this post, kindly share to your contacts/socials.

Thx

Diane

UPDATE:
We are looking for the Owner. If we do not find one, she will be brought in on Monday to be completely vetted.
Full examination, vaccination, deworming, and microchip. We will also be looking for a foster/adopter for her.

Hello CSL:

This cat has now ensconced herself in the backyard of one of our residents on Mackle Road.

Yes, I am aware it has a collar and what looks like a tracker on the collar.

I know next to nothing about trackers, but if we are able to find the owner through the tracker, we will do so.

WE HAVE CHECKED, AND THE CAT IS NOT MICROCHIPPED…🤦🏻‍♀️😔

And, honestly, I don’t know what people expect us to do. This cat is not leaving.

Even when the homeowner doesn’t feed, she sits outside waiting for food… so of course, we will feed her until we figure out what to do.

I thought she would go home… But she is not doing that.😿

Seriously… if this is your cat, please let me know.

Otherwise, we will take charge of her.
🤦🏻‍♀️😿

Hello Montreal West and surrounding areas:

A friend has informed me that she picked up a dead cat yesterday near Brock/Avon close to Parmalat.

It looked like the cat was hit by a car.

The cat was checked for a microchip which was negative but, it was also taken to the SPCA to double check.

It is a female, long-haired tabby, white paws and good teeth, indicating it may be have been quite young.

I am not posting the pictures here but, if you are missing such a cat, please contact me.
