For most of 2025, elite running coach Sandra Yaworski was in the fetal position. A late-2024 rheumatoid arthritis flare put her in emergency three times, dropped her cycling threshold from 167 to 115, and left her sleeping 16 hours a day with brain fog she couldn't think through.

In Reclaimed Episode 3, Amy Puzey sits down with her old coach to walk through what changed when she started Goodphyte Phytase in February. Within days, the inflammation in her feet eased enough to wear shoes. Within weeks, her C-reactive protein dropped from 13+ back into the normal range. Within a month, her brain fog lifted on a cloudy walk — "the sun was shining for me." Sandra is still on her biologic, still rebuilding, still in process. But she's back on the bike four hours a week and she's running again, thirty seconds at a time.

There’s something special about sharing your story in the community that helped shape it.

Last week, our founder and CEO, Amy Puzey, had the opportunity to speak in her hometown of Invermere, BC, at an event hosted by Kootenay Association for Science and Technology.

As part of the mentorship program with KAST, Amy shared the Goodphyte journey—from an idea rooted in science and nutrition to a growing company focused on helping people unlock more nutrition from the foods they already eat.

We’re incredibly grateful to have spent the evening alongside fellow entrepreneurs, innovators, and community members who showed up with curiosity, thoughtful questions, and a willingness to learn.

Building a business takes a village, and we’re thankful to be part of a community that continues to support innovation, mentorship, and meaningful conversations.

Thank you, for creating spaces where ideas can be shared, challenged, and inspired.

The future of nutrient absorption starts here.

From 16 Hours Sleep to Energy: How Phytase Changed Everything

During the worst of her rheumatoid arthritis flare, elite running coach Sandra Yaworski was sleeping 10–12 hours at night plus 2–4 hour afternoon naps. Brain fog made program-writing for her athletes take three times as long.

A few weeks after starting Goodphyte Phytase, the naps dropped out entirely. She's still rebuilding from where the flare left her, but the energy floor moved.

"I haven't had a nap for a long time now since taking phytase…that's been a huge change since taking phytase."

Have you experienced fatigue that improved dramatically once you addressed inflammation or gut health? What was the shift like for you?

RA sufferer fixed gut health with Goodphyte.

After 20 years living with rheumatoid arthritis, elite running coach Sandra Yaworski decided to add Goodphyte Phytase to her treatment stack based on the gut-autoimmune connection. The shifts came faster than she expected — inflammation markers dropped and the swelling in her feet eased within days.

She's still on her biologic and methotrexate; Goodphyte is one piece of a larger toolkit.

"It just makes sense to me. And I trusted that you wouldn't put a product out in the market if you didn't believe in it."

Have you noticed shifts in inflammation or energy after changes to gut health or dietary interventions? What prompted you to try that change?

After 18 months in a severe rheumatoid arthritis flare with inflammation markers off the charts, elite running coach Sandra Yaworski saw her C-reactive protein and platelet counts move into the normal range within a month of adding Goodphyte Phytase to her treatment stack.

She's still on her biologic and methotrexate — Goodphyte is one piece of a larger toolkit, not a replacement.

Elite runner's inflammatory markers normalized within a month of taking Goodphyte.

"Within a month of Goodphyte, they moved into the normal range and well into the normal range because they were so high."

Have you tracked your own inflammatory markers when you changed part of your treatment or diet? What surprised you about the timeline?

THE COST OF ADMISSION JUST DROPPED.

What if your easy days felt easier… and your hard days got faster?

In the latest episode of Reclaimed, GoodPhyte founder Amy Puzey sits down with elite ultrarunner Anthony Kunkel — USATF 50-Mile & 100K National Champion and Team USA 100K athlete — to discuss what changed after three years of using GoodPhyte.

Anthony shares how the “cost of admission” for his morning fasted runs dropped from a 5/10 effort to a 3/10, why he incorporates phytase into his daily routine, and how better nutrient availability has influenced his training, recovery, and performance.

This conversation goes far beyond running. It explores flow state, endurance, traditional food preparation, the science of phytase, and why cultures around the world have relied on fermentation for generations.

If you’re an athlete, a weekend warrior, or simply someone looking to unlock more from the food you already eat, this episode is worth your time.

✔️ USATF National Champion insights
✔️ Real-world GoodPhyte experience after 3 years of use
✔️ The science behind phytase and nutrient absorption
✔️ Endurance, recovery, and performance strategies
✔️ Why fermentation has been part of traditional cuisine for centuries

Because it’s not just what you eat. It’s what you absorb.
