Last week, I signed up for the 75 Strong Challenge with Ray . One of the goals is 10,000 steps a day.
My puppy is very happy about this new commitment. 🐶
I’m still negotiating with myself some days. 😂
But it has made me notice something I’ve been learning more and more about myself: my body really likes consistency. Not perfection. Not doing everything exactly right. Just consistency.
Some days I reach 10,000 steps, and some days I don’t. I’m realizing that missing the goal doesn’t mean I need to start over tomorrow or wait for Monday to “get back on track.” I can simply keep showing up.
There’s something powerful about that—not just with movement, but with so many things in life. We can spend so much energy thinking about when we’ll start again, do better, or finally get it right.
Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can do is ask:
What can I do today? What feels possible right now?
No perfect plan. No starting over. Just showing up.
And if I happen to get a little extra motivation from a very enthusiastic puppy along the way, I’ll take it. 🐾
