Arcadia Counselling Canadian Certified Counsellor, providing in-person sessions in Calgary and virtual sessions for those in AB, BC, SK, MB, & NU. Hello and welcome!

Visit the booking website to book a free complimentary consultation call to ask any questions and see if we are a good fit. It takes courage to seek help, so I commend you for taking this first step. Although therapy can seem intimidating, I view it as just like any other health service, such as the dentist or chiropractor. Just like how we visit the dentist if we have severe tooth pain or need a regular routine cleaning, I am here for both your traumatic life experiences as well as maintenance sessions. No issue is too small when working with me and my practice, Arcadia Counselling. No one is meant to struggle alone, which is where I come in. Therapy looks different for everyone so whether you are looking for a place to unload, want me to challenge you to uncover the ‘nitty-gritty’, desire at home virtual sessions, want to learn some new coping techniques, or improve your quality of life, I strive to help you feel supported, validated, and heard. Here to accompany you on your healing journey, my approach comes from a place of compassion, warmth, and sometimes lighthearted conversation (so that our time together is more fun than going to the dentist!). My passion for supporting others is longstanding and genuine. With over a decade spent in the field of psychology, I bring experience, education, and a warm welcoming aura to my practice. I hold a bachelor’s degree from the University of Lethbridge in psychology and a master’s degree from Yorkville University in counselling psychology. I have worked in both the public and private sectors, working alongside those with varying mental health concerns. As a generalist, I support children, adults, couples, and families with a wide range of presenting concerns. My counselling style takes a holistic, client-centered, and trauma-informed approach while providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space. I draw from a number of therapeutic approaches including, but not limited to, cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I offer a 15-minute complimentary meet and greet call for any further questions or to chat about how I can support you. I am also open to discussing benefits coverage and sliding-scale questions.

Sometimes, the hardest part is simply getting started. Task initiation can be tough, especially on the days when our energy is low, our minds feel busy, or everything feels like a little too much.

But sometimes, a little fresh air and movement can make a world of difference. Not because a walk fixes everything, but because stepping outside, getting our bodies moving, and giving ourselves a change of scenery can support our mental health.

I know walking helps me on my best days and my worst days. Sometimes it's a way to celebrate a good day, and other times, it's a way to get through a hard one.

You don't have to walk far or feel motivated before you go. Start small. Walk to the end of the street. Take the long way to the mailbox. Then judge how you feel once out🌱

I use humour in my own life and in my work as a counsellor. Sometimes it helps us feel a little lighter. Sometimes it helps us feel more connected. Sometimes it’s simply a reminder that we’re human. 👋💫

And yes, we will laugh in the therapy room. 🛋

Because we don’t have to be serious all the time to take our healing seriously. We can make space for the tears, the hard conversations, and the uncomfortable feelings - and we can also make space for laughter.

Being human is messy, complicated, and sometimes really funny.

And maybe laughter really is a little bit of medicine. 😄✨

Every day, I’m reminded how lucky I am to do this work. To hold space, support, and walk alongside people through some of life’s most meaningful moments is something I never take for granted.

I love my job and what I do so much. Human connection is powerful, and I’m so grateful I get to be a part of it. 🤍

I wanted to share this because I think it’s such an incredible initiative! 🗻

As a PaRx prescriber, I can prescribe time in nature to my clients, and when appropriate, even a free Parks Canada Discovery Pass to help make getting outside more accessible.🌲And honestly, how cool is that?!

Sometimes when we’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in the same tricky thoughts, it can be hard to know where to start. Getting outside isn’t a replacement for therapy, but it can be a really meaningful part of supporting our mental health.

A walk, some fresh air, a little movement, or simply sitting somewhere green can give us a chance to step out of our usual environment, reconnect with our bodies, and create a bit of space from whatever we’re carrying.

It doesn’t have to be a mountain hike or a big adventure either. Nature can look like a chill stroll along a river or sitting outside with a coffee taking in the fresh air. 🌱But PS. if you are a trail explorer then a free AllTrails Plus membership could be right up your alley.

If you are a client and think a nature prescription might be supportive to you, let's explore!

Identity mapping is a reflective exercise used to explore the many parts of who we are and how those identities influence our lived experiences.

Our identities can include things like:

- culture
- race
- gender
- sexuality
- religion
- ability
- socioeconomic background
- profession
- family roles
- and more

Some parts of identity may feel deeply visible in daily life, while others may feel invisible, misunderstood, privileged, or difficult to talk about.

There are no “right” answers to these prompts. The goal isn’t judgment... it’s awareness, curiosity, and self-understanding.

Reflection exercises like this can also help build empathy for experiences outside of our own.

You might consider journaling your responses or discussing them with someone you trust (or me!)

Which prompt made you pause and think the most? 🤍

We often talk about health in terms of exercise, nutrition, sleep, or doctor appointments... but mental health is health too.

Stress, anxiety, burnout, grief, and emotional overwhelm can affect every part of our lives, including our physical well-being.

Seeking support isn’t weakness. It’s a form of caring for yourself.

Checking in with your mental health matters just as much as checking in with your body. 🤍
