Your self-care guide before the weekend

As the week comes to an end, take a moment to check in with yourself.

💧 Stay hydrated
😴 Prioritize rest
🚶 Move your body
🧘 Practice mindfulness

You don’t have to be productive every moment of the weekend. Give yourself permission to slow down, recharge, and take care of you. 🌿

You deserve rest, too.

Q&A time 💭

“How can I deal with overthinking?”

Try these simple strategies:

✨ Write down your thoughts — getting them out of your head can help create some clarity.
✨ Focus on what you can control — let go of what’s outside of your control.
✨ Practice your breathing — slow, intentional breaths can help bring you back to the present moment.

You don’t have to solve every thought that comes your way. 🤍

Parenting affirmations for the days you need a little reminder

You don’t have to be a perfect parent to be a good parent.

You’re doing more than you realize. 🌿

Monday reminder 🤍

You did your best today.
You did what you could, with what you had.
And you made it through the day.

That’s enough for today.
I’m proud of you for that. 🌿

Feeling mentally exhausted? 🧠

Mental exhaustion can show up in ways we don’t always recognize:

• Chronic stress
• Feeling angry or impatient
• Chronic fatigue
• Decline in motivation
• Increased anxiety
• Zoning out or feeling disconnected
• Cynicism, doubt, or loss of interest

If you’re noticing these signs, it may be your mind and body telling you that you need a pause.

You don’t have to wait until burnout to ask for support. 🤍

🌿 Daily check-in: How are you really doing today?

Take a moment to pause, breathe, and notice what’s coming up for you—without judgment. You don’t have to have everything figured out. Sometimes, simply checking in with yourself is a meaningful step toward caring for your mental health. 🤍

What do you need a little more of today: rest, connection, patience, or support?

Therapy homework is not usually about getting everything “right.”

Often, it is simply about experimenting with small, practical strategies between sessions and noticing what helps.

That might look like paying attention to your triggers, practicing grounding, trying a boundary, changing a routine, or tracking thoughts and patterns a little more closely.

These small steps can be especially helpful during busier seasons, when fall stress starts building and life feels harder to keep up with.

Progress does not always come from huge changes. Sometimes it starts with one small strategy that helps things feel a little more manageable. 🍂

Fall can bring a strange kind of pressure.

New routines, fuller calendars, shifting responsibilities, and that quiet feeling that you should somehow be doing more.

So this morning, try a different intention:

I do not need to do everything today.
I can move through this season with steadiness, grace, and realistic expectations.

You do not have to match the pace of everything around you. One step, one breath, one day at a time is enough. 🍂🤍

Fall has a way of filling the calendar fast. 🍂

Work gets busier, routines restart, kids’ schedules pick up, commitments return, and suddenly every open space starts looking like somewhere something else should go.

But not every empty space needs to become an obligation.

Before your schedule fills up, try protecting time for the things that help you function well in the first place: sleep, movement, relationships, downtime and your mental health.

Rest and recovery are not what you squeeze in after everything else is done. They are part of what helps you handle everything else.

A fuller calendar does not always mean a fuller life. 🤍

It’s often easier to explain someone else’s behaviour by who we think they are, while explaining our own behaviour by what we were going through.

For example, if someone else is short with us, we may assume they are rude or inconsiderate. If we are short with someone, we are more likely to think about stress, overwhelm, or a difficult day.

This is known as the **fundamental attribution error** — a common tendency to judge others without fully considering their circumstances.

It can be a helpful reminder that context matters, and that people may be carrying more than we can see.
