Cruise Week took residents at Chartwell Wedgewood on a virtual trip to Sweden. After exploring Stockholm through a documentary, they hit the dance floor for an ABBA disco and line dancing party, complete with Swedish-inspired refreshments. What a summer!

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our residences and communities across the country, this year’s National Summer Fundraiser raised an amazing $170,000 for Chartwell Wish of a Lifetime - Rêver pour la vie!

Throughout the summer, residents, employees, families, and community members came together through creative events and activities, all with one goal in mind: helping grant meaningful wishes for seniors across Canada.

Thank you to everyone who organized an event, participated, donated, volunteered, or helped spread the word. This incredible result belongs to all of you.

We can’t wait to see the wishes your support will help bring to life!

Earlier this week, our residents had the pleasure of heading out on Ghost Lake with the Handiboat Society of Alberta ! ☀️⛵

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with beautiful views, a BBQ on board, and great company. We couldn’t have asked for a better day to be out on the water!

What a beautiful way to spend the afternoon! 💙

Our Office Manager, Xyla, jumped right into the action for a game of noodle ball with our residents. Safe to say, everyone had a great time — and Xyla definitely got a workout in! 😂

On behalf of all the residents and staff, we would like to take a moment to say a very heartfelt farewell to Nancy.

Nancy, your kindness, warmth, and caring nature have meant so much to all of us. You have brought smiles, comfort, and many wonderful moments to our community, and your presence will certainly be missed.

The residents have appreciated your friendship and the care you have shown them, and the staff have appreciated your support, teamwork, and the positive spirit you brought each day.

Although we are sad to see you go, we are also happy for you as you begin this new chapter. We hope you take with you many happy memories of the people whose lives you have touched here.

Thank you, Nancy, for everything you have done and for being such a special part of our community. We wish you happiness, good health, and every success in the future.

You will be missed, but you will always be remembered. Farewell, Nancy, and all the very best!

A Mountain Day in Kananaskis 🏔️🌲

What a beautiful day for a little road trip to Kananaskis Village! We enjoyed a peaceful walk surrounded by the stunning Rocky Mountains, fresh air, and gorgeous scenery. 🥾🏔️

After working up an appetite, we stopped for a delicious lunch and took our time enjoying the day. Good food, beautiful views, and great company — the perfect combination! ❤️

As I close my chapter at Fountains and make my way to assist in Nanaimo for awhile, I wanted to take a little walk back through the years—not just to remember where I’ve been, but to share and celebrate the people, the moments, the laughter, the challenges, the milestones, and all the little pieces of life that made this place so special.

Ninety photos could never capture it all. But together, they tell a story.

A story of people who became friends, colleagues who became family, residents who left lasting impressions, and a community that has been such an important part of my life!!

To my residents, aka “The Beauties” and to the incredible human beings that serve them….thank you for the memories. ❤️
