On Saturday, our VP of Business Development, Alana Skocdopole, took the Main Stage at the Family Medicine Innovation Forum (FMIF) to share Alethea’s progress in improving access to specialist advice through eConsult.

It was a fantastic weekend connecting with fellow innovators, hearing directly from physicians, and reconnecting with familiar faces across Alberta’s primary care community. A big thank you to the Alberta College of Family Physicians, the speakers, panelists, and everyone who made FMIF 2026 such an engaging event!

Hosted by the Alberta College of Family Physicians, FMIF brings together family physicians, primary care teams, health leaders, and innovators from across Alberta to share ideas and innovations helping transform patient care.

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Sh*ttu, Consultant Psychiatrist, to the Alethea specialist network!

Dr. Sh*ttu brings broad experience across adult psychiatry, with specialist training and expertise in Forensic Psychiatry. His clinical interests include mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, psychotic and personality disorders, and complex mental health presentations.

Through Alethea, Dr. Sh*ttu can support Primary Care Providers with diagnostic clarification, psychiatric medication management, comprehensive assessment, and practical treatment planning for complex presentations.

Today, nearly 3,200 healthcare providers are using Alethea to connect with 180 specialist consultants across 56 specialties, with more than 108,000 eConsults sent through the platform.

Alethea and Ava are working together to make accessing specialist advice simpler for Primary Care Providers across British Columbia.

Through the Alethea + Ava integration, providers can launch an eConsult directly from the patient chart, carry relevant patient information into the consult, add clinical images, and have specialist advice documented back in Ava, helping reduce duplicate work and keep care connected.

Dr. Mostofi is an Edmonton-based Neurologist and Electrodiagnostic Medicine Specialist with expertise in pediatric and general neurology, chronic headache and migraine, and neuromuscular concerns.

Primary Care Providers can now connect with Dr. Mostofi through Alethea for Pediatric Neurology eConsults, including questions around seizures, tics, developmental delay, migraines, numbness, weakness, and whether EMG or nerve conduction studies may be appropriate.
