Hear me out- there’s always the next shiny thing- the next training, the next healing session, one more retreat, one more event….. and maybe THEN I will feel good enough.
Somewhere along the way, personal development became another thing we could use to prove we weren’t good enough yet.
More healing. More training. More certifications. More work on ourselves.
And yes, our own work matters. Deeply.
But there’s a difference between doing the work because you want to grow and believing you have to reach some imaginary state of ‘perfection’ before you’re allowed to lead.
You don’t have to be completely ‘healed’ to be a powerful practitioner.
I don’t even love to use the word ‘healed’ anymore actually - you’re not broken. You’re not an open wound or a broken bone. You are a human, growing and evolving.
You need to be willing to know yourself, recognize your patterns, take responsibility for your impact, and build the capacity to stay present when things get uncomfortable.
That’s very different from expecting yourself to never get activated, never doubt yourself, or never have a hard day.
Inside Somatic Authority, we’re not chasing some perfect version of ourselves.
We’re building the capacity to be human without letting every uncomfortable feeling dictate how we lead, how we show up, or what we believe we’re capable of.
Because you don’t have to wait until you’re finished growing to do work that matters.
What have you been telling yourself you need to fix, heal, or learn before you’re ready?
I’d love to hear it in the comments
