Quite an active day of astrology tomorrow, August 27th, 2026. In the morning, Mercury meets the Sun in a cazimi in Virgo. Cazimis can bring moments of insight or realization, and with Mercury exalted in Virgo, something may finally click into place. Mercury is also moving into a tight square with Uranus, so the message may come unexpectedly. We may hear something, have a sudden realization or see a situation from a completely different angle. This could help us understand what we want to move toward, or what we are finally ready to let go of. Then we have a partial lunar eclipse in Pisces tomorrow evening…

Did you know that for an eclipse to occur, a New Moon or Full Moon must be within about 12 degrees of one of the lunar nodes?
This Pisces lunar eclipse is the last of its series for about 19 years. The Full Moon is at 5° Pisces while the North Node is at 29° Aquarius, putting them within 6° orb of each other. We would call this an out-of-sign eclipse. We are essentially between two eclipse stories. This eclipse is the final chapter of the Pisces/Virgo themes, while the North Node in Aquarius and South Node in Leo tell us a new story is beginning to unfold over the next 18 months.
We move toward the North Node, so with the North Node now in Aquarius, there may be a shift toward looking beyond ourselves and considering the bigger picture. How do we work together? Where do we fit in as individuals ? How do we stay true to ourselves while still being part of society?
The South Node in Leo conjunct the Virgo Sun, so we may also be moving away from the more dramatic ways perfectionism, criticism or the need to be right or self righteous, like we have seen in many circles lately. There may be times when we need to stand apart, say something outside the norm or separate ourselves from what everyone else is doing. There may also be times when we need to step back and stop looking for constant recognition or validation.
Virgo wants to analyze, organize, criticize and find practical solutions. When taken too far, that can turn into worry, perfectionism or trying to control every detail. Pisces reminds us that not everything can be controlled and some things need to be surrendered. Sometimes we need to tune into our intuition, let go and accept things as they are.Uranus is known as the great awakener. It can bring unexpected changes, sudden realizations or events that wake us up to something we were not seeing before. The unexpected can be exciting, or it can disrupt our lives. Sometimes that disruption is exactly what breaks an old pattern and creates more freedom. ⚡️ Uranus can also bring restless or nervous energy, disrupted sleep, overstimulation or that feeling that something needs to change, even if we are not quite sure what yet. Plans may change or things may happen differently than expected. These unexpected moments can help us see where we have become stagnant, where we need more freedom or where a different approach is needed.
☀️ 🌙 To see where this eclipse may be showing up in your own chart, look at the houses containing Pisces and Virgo first. These are the areas being directly activated by this eclipse. Next look at Aquarius and Leo. These houses begin to show the larger story developing over the next 18 months as the eclipses move into this new nodal cycle. Don’t forget to look where Uranus is currently transiting your chart. This may show where the unexpected event, realization or need for change enters the story. Eclipse stories tend to unfold over time, so we do not always know exactly what they mean as they are happening. This eclipse feels like a bridge between two stories. One is wrapping up while another is just beginning to unfold…

Social progress builds over time, and no generation gets to claim it invented consciousness! I’ve been noticing a lot of virtue signalling on social media lately, especially around generations and the idea that one generation suddenly came along and started breaking cycles, listening to their children, questioning authority, talking about trauma, setting boundaries, or challenging outdated ways of thinking.
That’s not how social change works.

Every generation builds on what came before it.There were Boomers who challenged social institutions, fought for civil rights, women’s rights and LGBTQ+ rights, questioned war and government, challenged traditional gender roles, and completely transformed music and culture.

Then Gen X came along and continued questioning what we had inherited. We talked about things our parents often didn’t talk about. We challenged family dynamics, relationships, sexuality, abuse, mental health, authority and what a family was supposed to look like. Many Gen X parents consciously chose to raise their children differently than they had been raised.

Millennials took many of those conversations further. Gen Z is taking some of them further again. And whatever comes next will probably look back at all of us and wonder why we didn’t see things that seem completely obvious to them. To me that’s progress. Kinda like a relay race, we keep passing the baton to the next generation.

From an astrological perspective, I find the Pluto generations fascinating for exactly this reason….

Pluto in Virgo began digging into what needed to be healed, improved and made healthier. Pluto in Libra brought transformation through relationships, equality and changing social expectations. Pluto in Scorpio went deeper into trauma, sexuality, abuse, power and the subjects people had been afraid to talk about. Pluto in Sagittarius challenged beliefs, institutions and accepted versions of truth. One generation doesn’t erase the one before it. It picks up the work and carries it somewhere new.

Then there’s the Pluto square….

I think the Pluto square is really important when we talk about the evolution of the generations. The Pluto square can bring some of the shadow of that generation to the surface. It can make us look at what we what we’ve unconsciously repeated, where we’ve given our power away, and even where our actions don’t necessarily line up with what we say we believe.

For the Pluto in Libra generation, Pluto moving through Capricorn challenged us around relationships, equality, responsibility, authority and the structures we had built our lives around. It wasn’t enough to talk about wanting healthier or more equal relationships. We also had to look at our own patterns and what we might still be carrying forward from the generations before us.

EVERY Pluto generation eventually faces its own version of that challenge…. I don’t believe one generation can declare itself the enlightened one. Every generation has gifts. Every generation has blind spots and makes mistakes. Every generation eventually gets challenged to look at its own shadow. EVERY Pluto generation eventually gets its own version of that unearthing. I don’t think any generation gets to declare itself the enlightened one. Every generation has gifts. Every generation makes mistakes. Every generation eventually gets challenged by its own shadow.

Carl Jung was writing about the shadow and the unconscious long before Pluto in Scorpio were born. Gen X didn’t suddenly discover those ideas from younger generations either. Many of us were already studying them decades ago. We don’t have to diminish the people who came before us in order to recognize how far we’ve come.We got here because people kept building on each other. Evolution isn’t a finish line. We keep handing the work forward.

P.S ( And can we please stop calling everybody older than a millennial a Boomer? 😂 Gen X exists, even if we are a small percentage. A huge amount of the music, art and culture younger generations grew up with came from Gen X, including many of the artists who challenged the music industry, questioned authority and spoke openly about things that weren’t being talked about. And they were influenced by the generations before them too. There have always been people willing to challenge the status quo, and there have always been people resistant to change, in EVERY generation! )

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo on the South Node - August.12th 2026

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo
Usually New Moons bring a release of energy and are a time for setting new intentions for the month ahead. With this New Moon conjunct the South Node, there is an added emphasis on release and letting go, especially in the house where Leo falls in your chart. The South Node is usually the exit point for energy, while the North Node is the entrance for a surge of something new.

The Saros series connected to this eclipse carries a theme of breaking free from a difficult or discouraging situation and moving into a more positive space where new possibilities begin to emerge. Something that has been causing worry may suddenly start to clear. A new path may be forged. Don’t hesitate in shifting gears

♌️ ♒️ Leo is the “me” and Aquarius is the “we.” With the South Node in Leo, there may be something around needing to be seen, acknowledged, recognized, or in the spotlight that is ready to be released. The energy surge toward the North Node in Aquarius may become more apparent with the upcoming Lunar Eclipse later this month.

You can look at the house where Leo falls in your chart for clues about where this release may be happening.

Leo 1st House / Aquarius 7th House
There may be a part of your identity that has needed to be seen, acknowledged, or validated that is ready to fall away. With Aquarius in the 7th, more emphasis may begin shifting toward your relationships and how you show up with other people, rather than needing the focus to remain solely on yourself.

Leo 2nd House / Aquarius 8th House
This can bring a release around what you value, what you own, what makes you feel secure, and even where you have tied your self-worth to outside recognition. Aquarius in the 8th moves the focus toward what is shared with others, including shared resources, intimacy, trust, and deeper emotional or psychological matters.

Leo 3rd House / Aquarius 9th House
There may be something changing around the way you communicate, think, learn, or move through your everyday environment. Old ideas or patterns of thinking may no longer fit. Aquarius in the 9th can pull you toward a broader perspective through higher education, travel, spirituality, philosophy, or even legal matters.

Leo 4th House / Aquarius 10th House
Something around your home, family, roots, or private life may be ready for change. This could be as simple as clearing things out of the home, or it could involve deeper family patterns that no longer serve you. Aquarius in the 10th shifts more energy toward your career, public life, reputation, and what you want to build or contribute in the world.

Leo 5th House / Aquarius 11th House
You may be looking at what you have been pouring your energy into for pleasure, romance, children, creativity, hobbies, or entertainment. There may be something here that has become excessive or simply no longer brings the same joy. Aquarius in the 11th moves the focus toward friendships, community, groups, and the hopes or goals you have for your future.

Leo 6th House / Aquarius 12th House
There may be something in your everyday routine, work life, habits, or health that is draining you and needs to be released or changed. Aquarius in the 12th may ask for more rest, solitude, reflection, meditation, or time to deal with what has been happening beneath the surface.

Leo 7th House / Aquarius 1st House
A relationship pattern may be reaching the end of its cycle, especially one where too much of your identity has been tied to how another person sees or validates you. Aquarius in the 1st puts more emphasis back on you, your individuality, your independence, and becoming more comfortable standing on your own.

Leo 8th House / Aquarius 2nd House
There may be something to release around shared resources, financial ties, intimacy, control, emotional entanglements, or deeper psychological material. Aquarius in the 2nd brings the focus back toward your own values, resources, self-worth, and what gives you a genuine sense of security.

Leo 9th House / Aquarius 3rd House
A belief, philosophy, educational path, legal matter, or something connected to long-distance travel may be changing or coming to an end. Aquarius in the 3rd brings the focus closer to home, toward communication, learning, your local community, and the way you think about and interact with everyday life.

Leo 10th House / Aquarius 4th House
Something connected to your career, public image, reputation, or the way you have wanted to be seen in the world may be ready to change. Aquarius in the 4th shifts more attention toward home, family, your private life, and what gives you a deeper sense of belonging.

Leo 11th House / Aquarius 5th House
You may be outgrowing certain friendships, groups, communities, or even hopes and goals that once felt important to you. Aquarius in the 5th brings the energy back toward personal joy, creativity, romance, children, hobbies, and the things that make you feel alive on a more personal level.

Leo 12th House / Aquarius 6th House
Something hidden, unconscious, or connected to the past may be ready to come to an end. This can also be about releasing isolation, avoidance, or patterns that have quietly drained your energy. Aquarius in the 6th brings more focus toward your daily life, work, habits, health, and creating routines that support where you are going next.

Pay attention to what is being released now and what starts to open up in its place. This eclipse is only one part of the story. As we move toward the Lunar Eclipse later this month, what is developing on the North Node side of the axis may begin to become more clear.
