A simple mantra for a more meaningful life I've been thinking a lot about lately:
Less input 📺, more output ✍️
Modern life is defined by input inundation. Social media, podcasts, YouTube, television, news, doomscrolling, endless commentary about what to do, who to be, and what to think. Or as Bo Burnham once characterized it: "anything and everything, all of the time."
Input matters... AND... learning is a means to an end. If you're like me, you've quietly used “learning” to justify inertia. The result of which is mere consumption over production... watching instead of creating... researching instead of acting.
I've seen this trend across many of my clients who are feeling disenfranchised and listless.
Input is a means to an end. It becomes useful when it turns into output: creation, contribution, production, practice.

After all, no one reaches the end of their life wishing they had consumed more and created less.
