What is KP (Keratosis Pilaris)? 🔴 A harmless skin condition that causes dry, rough patches and tiny bumps, often on the upper arms, thighs, cheeks or buttocks. It can appear on anyone at any age.
Keratosis pilaris is caused by the buildup of keratin (a hard protein that protects skin from harmful substances and infection). The keratin blocks the opening of hair follicles, causing patches of rough, bumpy skin.
How to treat and prevent?:
At home care: Best to use creams or washes containing alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), lactic acid, salicylic acid or glycolic to help loosen and remove dead skin cells. They also can help to moisturize and soften the dry skin.
KP Illume Body Treatments recommendations for arms, back, chest, etc:
• Dermalinfusion + beginner peel (aha, lactic, salicylic acids)
• Dermalinfusion + Green Peel level 1 & 2
