Nine couples. 60 years of love. One very special celebration.

Green Falls Landing in Regina had the incredible honour of celebrating nine couples who have each reached an extraordinary milestone: 60 years of marriage!

Six decades together is a beautiful testament to love, partnership, friendship and all the memories made along the way. To mark this remarkable occasion, the Green Falls Landing team brought everyone together for a special celebration filled with laughter, stories, delicious treats and plenty of love.

We are so grateful to celebrate these incredible couples and the lives they have built together.

Green Falls Landing residents got a tour of Mosaic Stadium where the Saskatchewan Roughriders play. This was the first time our residents got to be on the turf and even got to run out of the tunnel like true players! Green really looks good on them!

There’s nothing quite like a day on the water to create lasting memories.

Residents from The Williamsburg in Burlington enjoyed a beautiful cruise along 16-Mile Creek thanks to the incredible team at CharterAbility, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing accessible recreational boating experiences at no cost for people of all ages facing physical limitations or other personal circumstances.

With perfect weather and an outstanding volunteer crew, the day was one to remember. A special highlight was watching resident Warren take the helm as captain, making the experience even more meaningful.

We’re proud to partner with organizations that help make enriching, inclusive experiences possible, creating moments of joy and connection for our residents.

🌟 **July Employee Spotlight: Taylor!** 🌟

This month, we are so happy to shine our Employee Spotlight on the wonderful **Taylor!**

Taylor has been part of the Scenic Acres family for just over a year, and in that time she has already trained in **three different departments — Housekeeping, Dining as a Server, and Reception**. Taylor willingly took on this extra training so she could step in and help wherever she was needed, which says so much about her team spirit and commitment to our community.

Taylor has now settled into her daytime role at the Reception Desk, where she goes out of her way every day to support our residents, families, visitors, and team members. Her friendly and helpful nature makes her such a wonderful first face to see when you walk through our doors.

When Taylor first came to Scenic Acres for her interview, she said everyone was so friendly and supportive that she knew she wanted to be part of the team. We are certainly glad she made that decision!

Looking to the future, Taylor hopes to stay with the Scenic Acres family and continue growing her experience. She also has a long-term goal of one day becoming a **911 dispatcher**. Taylor enjoys giving back to her community and feels this would be another rewarding career — just as she finds her work here at Scenic Acres rewarding.

We are so proud to spotlight Taylor this July and are excited to watch her continue to grow. Thank you, Taylor, for your flexibility, your kindness, and everything you do to support our Scenic Acres community! 💙

🐐🐇 **A Special Visit from Butterfield Acres!** 🐑🐓

We had such a wonderful time welcoming the petting zoo from Butterfield Acres to Scenic Acres!

There is something very special that happens when we connect with animals. Gentle interaction can help our bodies release feel-good chemicals such as oxytocin and endorphins, helping us feel calmer, more connected, and more at ease. Sometimes the simple act of holding, petting, or spending time with an animal can bring comfort in a way that words cannot.

For some of our residents, the visit was about more than just seeing the animals. It brought back memories of earlier days — growing up on a farm, caring for animals, feeding livestock, or remembering a much-loved family pet. Those moments of recognition and reminiscence are incredibly meaningful and can open the door to stories, laughter, and connection.

This is why experiences like these are so important to us. They support emotional well-being, create moments of joy, and give our residents opportunities to reconnect with treasured memories from their lives.

We are so grateful for services like Butterfield Acres that bring these meaningful experiences right to our residents. The smiles throughout said it all. ❤️

Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦

Today we celebrated in true red-and-white style at Scenic Acres! For the past few years, one of our wonderful residents has helped us place Canadian flags along our driveway, and he was happy to continue the tradition again this year.

Our residents showed their Canadian pride by wearing red and white, enjoying a watermelon social, Canada Day tattoos, Canadian music, and some fun Canada trivia. It was a wonderful day filled with smiles, laughter, and national pride.

This Canada Day feels extra special as we also celebrate Canada’s historic success at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Canada has made history by reaching the men’s World Cup knockout stage for the first time, winning a dramatic 1–0 match over South Africa, and now moving on to face Morocco in the Round of 16.

We are so happy to celebrate Canada Day, Canada’s success on the world stage, and the excitement of cheering on Team Canada in the next game.

🤠🥞 What a fantastic Stampede Breakfast! 🌞
The weather couldn’t have been better—the sun came out, the smoke cleared away, and everyone enjoyed a wonderful morning together!
A huge thank you to The Batter Boys for serving up their delicious pancakes, GFS for their generous food donation, and the Calgary Stampede for helping make this event so enjoyable. Your support helped create a truly memorable community celebration.
It was wonderful to welcome so many visitors from across Calgary to Scenic Acres Retirement Residence. Seeing residents, families, neighbours, and friends come together to share great food, conversation, and Stampede spirit made the morning extra special.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success.

What a beautiful day in Kananaskis! 🌄🚌

Last week, Scenic Acres joined two of our fellow Cogir communities, McKenzie Towne and The Edgemont, for a wonderful outing to William Watson Lodge in Kananaskis.

With three Cogir buses heading out together, we were grateful for a break in the rainy June weather and were treated to beautiful blue skies, mountain views, and even some wildlife along the way.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our residents to enjoy the fresh mountain air, connect with friends from other Cogir communities, and take in the beauty of Alberta’s outdoors.

A milestone moment at Westney Gardens Retirement Residence!

On June 16, we proudly celebrated the official opening of our new Assisted Living floor with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony with Carol, the very first resident to move into the new space.

Designed with comfort, care, and community in mind, the new floor features 31 thoughtfully appointed suites, including both studio and one-bedroom layouts. Residents will benefit from convenient access to a modern nursing station and physician’s office. The floor also offers inviting spaces for residents to connect and engage, including a dedicated activity area, TV and reading lounges, and a bright, welcoming dining room.

This exciting expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional care and creating vibrant communities where residents can age in place. Congratulations to the entire Westney Gardens team on this wonderful achievement!

Glynnwood retirement residence in Ontario, made a resident’s 100th birthday extra special by working with the family to celebrate her birthday at the Blue Jays game. The Active Living Manager drove Clare and her family to the Jays game where they had a special day prepared for her. Joyful moments are happening at our residences across the country every day!

Centenarians make up just 0.03% of Canada’s population, making them a truly remarkable group. Recently, the team at Scenic Acres in Calgary had the honour of celebrating seven residents who are over 100 years old.

When asked their secret to a long life, they shared simple wisdom: eat well, stay active, work hard, and maintain a positive outlook. Their stories reflected lives filled with resilience, family, and community.

A special toast with ch*****ne and strawberry cake capped off a wonderful celebration of these extraordinary residents and their incredible legacies.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Sharon Corners’ own Maura (seen centre in the image below), our amazing Active Living Aide, on being crowned Miss Canada 2026! 👑

Maura brings kindness, compassion, creativity, and joy to our residents every single day, and we couldn’t be happier to see her recognized on a national stage. Her dedication to helping others shine is what makes her such a special part of the Sharon Corners community.
