Total Acupuncture Clinic Dr. Mandy ( Yonghe ) Liu Registered Acupuncturist, Doctor of Acupuncture in Calgary. Former medical doctor in China. We do a detailed assessment first.

We provide quality acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbal medicine treatments. We help people with different health conditions. We have two registered acupuncturists and doctors of traditional Chinese medicine.We are located at 231 14 Street NW Calgary AB. Patients come in to our clinic for the services. We then make a treatment plan base on patients' conditions. Treatments may include acupuncture , herbal medicine, cupping therapy, electrical simulations, therapeutic heat therapy.Dr. Mandy Liu was a medical doctor in China. She was trained in both western and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM). She had been practicing medicine and acupuncture since 1995 in China. Dr. Liu became a registered acupuncturist and Doctor of TCM in Canada in 2005. Dr. Liu speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Dr.Liu specializes in pain and stress relief, injuries, male and female infertility, digestive disorders, immune boost and woman's health.

Acupuncture can help maintain your skin's natural defense mechanism, which protect your skin from sun damage.

The UV light is strong in Summer days. Besides wearing a hat and putting on sun screen, try the following food to prevent sun damage to your skin.
1. Eat Some Lycopene (rich in tomatoes).
2. Get Some Astaxanthin,The super-antioxidant astaxanthin is found in algae, Salmon, shrimp.
3. Get Some Vitamin D.
4. Get Your Long-Chain Omega-3s and Ditch the Omega-6s.
5. Eat Plenty of Saturated Fat, such as butter, palm oil, and coconut oil.
6. Drink Tea, especially green tea.
7. Get Some Proanthocyanidins, such as wine, grape seeds,
blueberries,
8. Consider Resveratrol.

Yesterday I attended the AATCMD AGM meeting. Members of the association discussed about the GST exemption for acupuncture service. I strongly agree with this. Now the government said they need 5 provinces to regulate acupuncture practice before they can approve the GST exemption. I wish we will get there soon...
