RMPTI Programs are designed for:

Programs are designed for practitioners who work full-time and are interested in enhancing their theory base and deepening their play therapy skills and techniques. Create your Co-Therapist and master your inner puppeteer this October with Introduction to Puppets:Creating a Co-Therapist Character and Exploring Directive/Non-Directive Puppet Play Therapy!

Participants will be introduced to the principles, theory, and practice of using puppets with clients. Both Directive and Non-directive activities will be discussed and exemplified. Participants will have an opportunity to try a variety of approaches to the use of puppets as well as the creation of a “Co-Therapist” character to use when working with children and explore the metaphors behind puppet play.

This specialized certificate program offers master’s-level mental health practitioners 26.5 hours of focused training in play therapy techniques for processing situational, sexual, physical, and emotional trauma. Working as a Play Therapist does not preclude the possibility of going to court. Even if you never find yourself in a position of going to court, are you prepared? Play Therapists work in complex systems. Some will inadvertently end up working with abused children and/or children of separation and divorce which moves therapy services into the forensic field of practice. This course begins with the assumption that you have been requested or subpoenaed to attend Court. Join us and walk through the steps of becoming prepared for Court. Together we will review the following topics:

- First Contact: What do you do?
- Getting Your Court Folders Ready (including preparing your CV)
- Roles the Judge, Lawyers, Court Reporters and Therapist play
- Identifying Legal Jurisdictions and Acts affecting Children and Youth
