Sanna didn’t just become a mom. She became a stranger’s reason to believe in life again ❤️

Today, on World Marrow Donor Day, we celebrate stem cell donors like Sanna who have chosen to give hope to nearly 1,000 people in Canada waiting for their lifesaving match.

For Vanessa Tait, becoming a living kidney donor meant helping fulfill her father's wish: to spend his final days at home.

When kidney failure forced her father, Kenneth Tait, to leave his O-Pipon-Na-Piwin Cree Nation community for treatment, all he wanted was to return home and be surrounded by family, community, and a familiar environment. "For a lot of First Nations families, being home is the best place to be," said Vanessa.

Despite the chances of him not surviving for long after the transplant, Vanessa made the selfless decision to donate one of her kidneys to her father, giving him the opportunity to come home and spend precious time with his family.

Living donation is a powerful reminder that one act of generosity can change a life, strengthen connections, and leave a lasting legacy 💚

Twenty years ago, Jorge lost his mother, Adelfa, to leukemia.

During her treatment, he saw firsthand how blood donors could change someone's life. And while most people carry gratitude with them, Jorge decided to wear it.

What started as one “DONATE BLOOD” shirt at sporting events eventually became RedRojas, a community of runners, cyclists and triathletes who show up wearing the message proudly on their chest. Today, these jerseys have gone global, inspiring athletes all over the world.

Sometimes the most meaningful legacies aren't built from what we accomplish.

They're built from who we remember ❤️
