A little spooky. A lot of fun. A community celebrating recovery together.

Aventa and Fresh Start Recovery invite you, your family and your friends to join us on Saturday, October 31, 2026, for our Clean and Sober Halloween Dance!

Pull out your favourite costume and come spend Halloween with our recovery community. We have something for the little monsters, the dance-floor regulars and everyone in between.

Here’s what we have in store:

🎃 6:30 p.m. | Spooky Booths and Family Activities
Bring the kids for spooky booths, Halloween activities and plenty of treats. At 7:00 p.m., we’ll get the dance floor started for the little ghouls and goblins!

💃 8:00 p.m. | Let’s Dance
Gather your crew and join everyone on the dance floor with DJ Marvin Culture! We’ll keep the celebration going until late.

Parking

Drop your guests off at the front door, then park in the lot on the east side of our building. If that lot is full, please park at Centre Street Church. Our shuttle will bring you back to the celebration.

Why we come together

Recovery grows through connection, and nights like this give us a chance to enjoy the lives we are rebuilding. We make new friends, reconnect with familiar faces and share some laughter with the people walking beside us.

Whether you are new to recovery, have been part of this community for years or are coming to support someone you love, there is a place for you here.

Recovery is not always a straight path, and sometimes returning to treatment is an important part of moving forward. Recovery is about more than overcoming addiction – it's also about rediscovering who you are, recognizing your worth and investing in your own well-being as you build a healthier future.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

This year’s theme is ‘Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change’, which highlights people with lived experience of mental health conditions as a vital source of knowledge.

Approximately 1 in 5 Canadians will deal with a mental health issue in their lifetime. Those who are struggling are not alone and are encouraged to reach out for help. 💚

Congratulations to our Amethyst and Emerald graduating groups! During today’s graduation ceremony, we heard how overwhelming those first days of treatment can be – walking through the doors feeling scared and unsure, and wanting nothing more than to turn around and leave.

With courage, patience, and determination, fear slowly gave way to hope. These remarkable women found the strength to share their experiences, speak openly about their trauma, and allow themselves to be vulnerable.

We are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished over the past seven weeks. Healing is possible, and your past does not have to define your future. We hope you will stay connected to Aventa and join us at our events throughout the year.
