Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the Canadian Climbing Medicine Symposium in beautiful Squamish, BC.
Three days spent learning from some of the leading clinicians, researchers, and practitioners in climbing medicine was incredibly inspiring. We covered everything from climbing injury assessment and rehabilitation, performance and training, nutrition, health, the female athlete, and the mental side of training and climbing—plus so much more.
One of the biggest highlights, though, was connecting with such an amazing community of people who are just as passionate about climbing and helping climbers thrive. Sharing time together bouldering between sessions made the experience even more memorable.
I’m back in the clinic this week excited to put this new knowledge into practice with my patients and to share what I’ve learned with my colleagues.
This symposium reminded me why I’m so passionate about climbing medicine, and it has me even more excited about where this field is headed. Already looking forward to the next one!
A huge thank you to Climbing Medicine for bringing together such incredible speakers and creating an outstanding event.
I don’t post on here often, but when I do it’s usually because something genuinely stands out—and this was absolutely one of those experiences worth sharing.
