This is my serious face. Maybe a bit frustrated face. This is because my patient told me today that her surgeon strongly recommended a procedure that is completely unnecessary for the type of cancer she has. She was crying, I filled her in on what I see to be common standard of care, and reminded her that she has the right to see another surgeon.

Fall is my favourite time of year. Hello sweater season! But as the days shorten and sunlight declines, our bodies, just like the trees, change with the changing sunlight. Less vitamin D and less serotonin may be the reason you notice a shift in your mood, or eating patterns.
Red foods are high in anthocyanins, a powerful antioxidant great for our immune system. Think sweet potatoes, pumpkin, peppers and tomatoes.

Here’s the thing - your other doctors have a specific role: diagnostics, referrals for special tests, prescriptions. They are trained to deal with illness in a specific way.
I’m just different because I’ve been trained differently. That training is how to blend complementary therapies with conventional ones. Two lenses looking at the same person.
You don’t have to choose - you get both.
