Osteopathy is built on the understanding that the body is connected, adaptable, and constantly working to maintain balance. 🌿
The four principles of osteopathy help guide how I assess and treat each person:
✨ The body is a unit.
Your body, mind, and overall wellbeing influence one another.
✨ The body has natural self-regulating mechanisms.
Your body is constantly adapting and working to maintain balance and function.
✨ Structure and function are interconnected.
How one area moves or functions can influence other parts of the body, sometimes far from where symptoms are felt.
✨ Treatment is guided by these principles.
Rather than looking only at the area that hurts, osteopathic care considers the relationships throughout the whole body.
This is why an osteopathic assessment may look beyond the location of your symptoms and consider things like old injuries, movement restrictions, breathing mechanics, posture, digestion, stress, and compensation patterns.
Because sometimes, where you feel the problem is only one part of the story. 🌿
