Welcome to Avid!

Meet Ella, see the space, and learn about what the word “avid” means in relation to speech, communication, and literacy growth.

Please note that although this video featured just one very young fellow, Ella is avid about working with learners of ALL ages!

| A million thanks to the skillful .saulnier for filming, editing and music, and a million more to for the brilliant logo design! If I had to choose a crew for space, they’d be top notch picks 🚀

Service Series: Part V
TODDLER & PRESCHOOLER GROUPS
Enriched Storytime

Huddle up and listen close: when you do storytime with a Speech-Language Pathologist, you'll learn new words, practice the sounds letters make, dive deeper into narrative, connect what you've read to the outside world, and start intentionally building up your pre and early literacy skills — and you might even make some new friends along the way!

It's never too early to start sparking interest in the words and stories we share with others ✨

Services Series: Part III
LITERACY: reading & writing

As children transition from primary to junior grades, they are expected to make the transition from "learning to read" to "reading to learn," in which accessing content and demonstrating knowledge in the classroom becomes more and more dependent on their ability to read and write.

Unfortunately, school-based reading instruction alone is not enough for all learners (e.g., those with dyslexia or neurodiverse needs).

Service Series: Part II
LANGUAGE Can sound the same or similar but mean something very different!

A strong network of words, including what they mean and how they can be used, can help us achieve understanding faster.

For example, when you hear: "I hit a minor _____", what do you see?
