With 2022 quickly coming to a close later tonight, we would like to take this time to wish everyone near and far a very Happy New Year and that 2023 brings you and your loved ones continued joy, success and the most important good health.

We are excited to be bringing some special food projects to Nunavut so please follow us in early Jan for the start of the Nuna Cook Project. We will see you on the other side of 2023 🙂 best wishes and please be safe.

We are looking for local hunters and trappers to help us get country food for a community food distribution project for Cambridge Bay.

Hunters will be compensated; please look at the poster and
contact us if you have any questions. A poster will be distributed around town on Monday for those hunters and trappers that are not on FB.

If someone from HTO could reach out to us it would be greatly appreciated as we have emailed and left several messages but have been unsuccessful in reaching anyone, we would like to work this project through the HTO.

Times are tough and families are struggling to keep food on the table especially in Northern communities where food costs are 2-3 times higher than down south. Stay tuned for some food initiatives coming up to help Nunavummiut deal with food insecurity.

Canadians could see lower grocery bills as food prices drop for the fourth month in a row, according to a United Nations Agricultural Organization report.

A professor gave a balloon to every student, who had to inflate it, write their name on it and throw it in the hallway. The professor then mixed all the balloons. The students were given 10 minutes to find their own balloon. Despite a hectic search, no one found their balloon.

At that point the professor told the students to take the first balloon that they found and hand it to the person whose name was written on it. Within 5 minutes everyone had their own balloon.

The professor said to the students: “These ballons are like happiness. We will never find it if everyone is looking for their own. But if we care about other people's happiness....we'll find ours too."
